We Made Our Second $500.00 Donation of 2024 to Chess and Community, Inc.

Chess and Community, Inc.

Chess and Community is the second organization we have partnererd with for February 2024. They are located in Athens, GA and began in 2012 by Mr. Lemuel “Life” LaRoche, their founder and executive director.

Their Mission: "To expose students to new ways of thinking and being."

Their Value Statement: "Be open-minded, disrupt the ordinary, Think Before You Move, stay accountable, be great and be grateful because leaders serve."

Their Purpose: "To awaken possibility for emerging leaders."

Grizzly Rides is inspired by the work of this organization which uses the game of chess as a learning modality to help young adults manage impulsiveness and develop critical thinking skills, thus preparing them to lead by focusing on academic enrichment, civic engagement, career and entrepreneurial skills development, and cultural education. In essence, Chess and Community develops the youth to transform their community.

This is how Grizzly Delivery differs from the other Transportation Providers in Athens: Groome will cost $59 per Adult for a One Way Ride from Athens to the Atlanta Airport. Cheap but you have to get to the Groome Office and they make stops to hotels to pick up more passengers. You are also on with 15 other passengers packed tight for 2 hours or more. Bulldog Limo's One Way Ride will cost $245.50 for a Cadiilac Sedan or $323.50 for an SUV. Extremely expensive. Uber or Lyft will cost $80 to $120 depending on when they are surging, but you never know who your driver will be or what condition their car is in. Smokers, Unclean Vehicle, Stuff already in their trunk, and unprofessional behavior, Car Rental will be more expensive considering parking at Airport + Gas + Extra Insurance and the stress of hopping on the airport train, shuttle, walking to Terminal from lot. Getting to car rental company + returning. Driving yourself: dealing with Atlanta traffic, Gas Cost, Parking at Airport, Hassle of getting to Terminal. At Grizzly, we charge $100 for up to 2 people from Athens to the Atlanta Airport. $25 each additional person. We charge a fair price for picking you up door to door in a new Mid-sized SUV that is clean, safe, reliable and you will always get a bottle of Fiji water. Only the best for our customers.

Who We Are Grizzly Delivery, LLC started in June of 2016 by our CEO, Wesley Chenoweth, an entrepreneur and engineer. Our company is rooted in the Passenger Transportation, Non-Emergency Medical Transportation and Courier Delivery industries. We are located in Athens, GA and service our client base living between Athens and the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. We are a transportation company driven by a good cause. We Love Bears! (A % of the profits from Your Rides goes to charities supporting Wildlife Conservation and Protection of their Natural Habitat).

Company History

Grizzly Delivery, LLC orginally began in NYC as Grizzly Multi-Enterprises, Inc. in the Door to Door Distribution Industry. We were independent contractors for firms such as The Star Ledger Newspaper and Yellowbook/Hibu We eventualy evolved into courier delivery and now passenger transportation as well. We relocated to Athens, GA in 2016 and fell in love with this city. The people and culture of Northeast Georgia has been a Godsend for our business and livelihood. Located on the West End of Athens, we also happen to be neatly positioned in a Georgia State HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) and are a registered minority contractor. ​Grizzly Delivery, LLC is also a Proud Registered Federal Contractor.
