A special event in my personal life is happening this summer and I realized I had not made it "official" here. My husband and I are expecting a baby boy this coming June 2022!!! 💙 We decided that it was only fitting that our fur babies, Emma and Dexter, were included in the announcement (book prop made by my husband - so cute!) 🐱

We are so excited to meet Baby Boy Harbour after such a long journey!

Who's a fan of a good flatlay?! 🙋🏼‍♀️ If you're interested in having this done for your wedding make sure and talk to your photographer. They can help you with what to bring them on the wedding day for this photo! If you have a coordinator/planner, they can also help with giving these items to your photographer and making sure they are placed in a safe space after use. 😊

Can't believe it's December already! Looking forward to all that comes with this wonderful month but can't help but reflect back to our wonderful recent weddings. This late summer wedding was full of fun, family, and lots of great details that reflected what was important to the couple. Lots of colors incorporated into the florals was important to this couple and Blue Ferm Floral did an amazing job. Check out that bouquet! 🤩

One of my favorite parts of planning my own wedding was working with our stationary vendor to create our various paper goods. It was important to me to have the colors and feel of the event communicated from the save the date to the invitation suite to the various signage at the reception. Working with a professional was so helpful as they worked on our vision with us, answered all our questions, and produced all the pieces with care.

I've had a number of couples this year choose to carve out some time after their first look to do private vows. I'm a huge fan of this and LOVE this addition to the wedding day! I love that they are able to spend time together before the ceremony sharing how they feel on such a special day! Couples can write their vows on paper, have them on their phone, or purchase custom vow books like the ones pictured here.

Something we as wedding planners can help with is what to pack for your wedding day. What items should you include on your packing list for the delicious and fun moment of cake cutting?🎂

✨cake knife and server
✨cake topper and/or cake flowers
✨cake stand

If you don't have a cake knife and server set or don't want to buy one, you can always ask your venue or caterer if they have one they can provide! Same goes for a cake stand - you can always ask your cake or dessert vendor if they rent some you can return at a later date.

Whether you or a vendor handles these items, I always have take care of packing them up at the end of the night and getting them to their intended homes! Just another benefit of hiring a wedding planner! 😁

Hello! Wow what a year it's been and as I post this I'm reminded that this photo was taken at a fantastic styled shoot back in APRIL! It's been a minute since I showed up here on IG, so I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jackie and I'm the owner and planner here at A Standard of Grace Events. In the spirit of fall and the upcoming Halloween holiday, here are a few themed facts about me:

✨My favorite Halloween costume I've worn is my Tippi Hedren costume from The Birds movie. It was a blast to create and wear. It even includes fake birds attached to my dress!

✨Speaking of The Birds, I absolutely LOVE Alfred Hitchcock movies, especially this time of year. Psycho, Rear Window, The Birds, and Vertigo are ones I always make sure to watch.

✨I used to love Halloween candy but being dairy, gluten, and soy intolerant limits my options now. My favorite Halloween candy when I was growing up was Butterfingers and Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Now I grab for some Mike and Ikes!

Our bride had the best support system around her! You could see how much her bridesmaids loved and cared for her and how much she appreciated them and their support. It warms my heart to see my couples surrounded by love and kindness at the start of this new chapter in their lives.❤️

We are so fortunate here in the greater Seattle area to live near so many amazing islands! One that you must check out is Vashon Island! Vashon Island is a true island with no bridges or tunnels. The ferry ride from Seattle is a quick and enjoyable 20 minute ride and you end up with views like the one above. If you’re looking for a relaxing day trip or weekend adventure, look no further than this piece of paradise! 🌲✨

On a wedding note, I love Vashon Island for weddings and events! The mix of natural beauty and wonderful people makes for an ideal PNW wedding spot. This photo was taken from the beautiful Vashon Field and Pond venue where they host all sorts of celebrations. Working with them is a joy and I can’t wait to work with them soon - any interest in having your celebration with THIS view?

The ceremony is set and ready for two people to exchange vows in front of their loved ones! Don’t worry though about setting this up yourself or enlisting your friends and family in this task. Oftentimes your venue includes ceremony set-up and tear down as part of their services if you use their items. If this task falls to you, there are companies that provide set-up and tear down services.

This delicious and beautiful cake by was a huge hit at J+A’s wedding. It even included a gluten free white cake layer with cream cheese for the groom! To top it all off, gorgeous flowers with a touch of greenery were added as a perfect finishing touch. What kind of decor are you planning on adding to your wedding cake?
