I was born and raised on an island in the Northeast coast of Brazil, where flavors are heavily influenced by the French, Portuguese, Spanish and African immigrants. My parents immigrated to Brazil in the late 60s from Taiwan and always made sure I grew up with Chinese food influences early on. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of my father soaking soy beans to make tofu from scratch and m
y mother learning to cook Brazilian fare from her neighborhood friends. The discovery of cooking as a passion came to me as an exchange student in Lyon, France – often touted the culinary capital of the world. While other exchange students were galloping about sightseeing, I spent many afternoons and evenings cooking with my host mother, learning all I could about French food and wine. Since then, I’ve lived all over the world and spent some years traveling and living in Asia where I learned the similarities and differences between Latin, European and Asian cuisines and how to complement flavors across geographies. My passion for elevating local and global cuisines has become a calling I'm enthusiastic to share with my clients to create the perfect event.
