Hey UD fam!

So the UD Cooking Club hosted its very first virtual session! We had such a blast connecting with our cooking club home chefs and fully plan to do more of them!

UD is not only focused on feeding folks, but also bringing our kitchen tips to your directly! The cooking club has been around for over a decade and we want to continue to build that community here and on our website. If you’re interested in some home cheffin’ and being part of a community of folks who enjoy food and laughs, please join us! Shoot us a message to learn how to join!

As part of our Storyteller Spotlight Series for Black History Month, today we'd like to highlight Urban Decadence]! Urban Decadence, a Black women-owned family catering business, provided catering for our students, families, and actors at our Biggest Show this past October! We loved their emphasis on making their food taste home-made. We invited the 4 owners, Lela Osborn, Jannita Lands-Orman, Sada Lands, and Stephanie Lands, to share what food and story means to them:

"Food was the way our grandmother took care of her family. Food is what would bring our family together. Food not only sustains our bodies but can nourish our spirits. It is such a vital way to show love to others, to connect with others. It’s a basic need, and an indulgence at the same time."
