Meet May's Compassion Initiative Recipient: Notso ❤️

Notso is a multi-skilled clown and street performer based in Detroit, Michigan. From juggling and balancing acts to fire breathing, cane tricks, and hat manipulation, he brings a wide range of skills to his performances.

But what stood out most in his nomination wasn't just his talent. It was his generosity.

Beyond performing, Notso shares his skills and knowledge with the online clown community and has inspired an entire wave of clowns to begin exploring cane balancing and other circus arts. According to his nominator, he's always willing to help anyone who asks, and his passion for clowning is something he loves sharing with others.

His impact has been felt throughout the community, even inspiring fellow clowns to recreate elements of his signature makeup.

We're honored to recognize Notso as this month's Compassion Initiative recipient and can't wait to send a new nose his way. ❤️🤡

The Artist Behind the Nose
Stories from artists who choose our noses to shape their own kind of magic ✨
This month:
Richy started clowning at just eight years old, first performing alongside his father at a school Halloween event back in '94 🤡 What began as a father-and-son act soon became his lifelong passion, and he’s now been bringing laughter to audiences for over 30 years.
One of his favorite things about clowning is making people laugh without saying a single word. Through physical comedy, expression, and presence, he creates moments that can light up a crowd and connect with people across every age and background ♥️
His journey has taken him from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to fairs, festivals, overseas performances, and community events, but what he loves most is bringing circus wonder directly to people, whether that’s on a big stage or in someone’s backyard 🎪🤍
