I pushed through last night at Spooky Sip & Shop hosted by in Valley Center with my lei stand represented for and tonight at Sunset Social hosted by Valley Center Chamber of Commerce, I donated a fresh flower lei kui and a ti-leaf bottle lei for their raffle prizes. I’m unfortunately in the middle of life-depression right now but I pulled through it. It was fun nights!!

We are always a student of life! I went to the lei making workshop by Gina, .mindful.lei from Oahu on Saturday at Pigment in North Park. It is always thrilled to be a student to learn new and different things. Everytime I take workshop or class from Kumu (teacher) or fellow lei maker, I always learn something new or different from what I’ve been doing. It was so fun to meet new people too. .mindful.lei taught us also to be mindful while making lei and gave us amazing energy by meditating and chanting for us. I can’t wait to join her workshop again!!

What a fun and amazing Sunday Tiki Time at Old Town Temecula yesterday!! Thank you, Meheula Music Productions for having us, and West Kauai Sun for letting me have my lei stand under your misty canopies! It was great united with the owner & staff from Da Coconut Cafe - Hawaiian BBQ & Poke (it’s been a while!) and the music again by Slack Key Ohana was so much fun!! Thank you, Atkinson Plumeria for the tons of beautiful plumeria blooms for this event lei project. Mahalo to people who came by and shop & chat with us!!

Aloha!!!! Lei Kui workshop has the date/time changes! New date/time are on 10/6 Sunday 10am-1pm in Fallbrook! Making lei using long needle and threads, tasting some local made wines, enjoy amazing food board/boxes created by a local chef, and karaoke!
Maybe a small flower related boutique you can shop for the holiday or any occasions!
Lots of fun packed in for these three hours!
Plus, portion of the workshop fees go to help equine food bank based in North County San Diego (tax deductible receipt will provided) so it’s a great cause!!

Please come join us at Lei Kui (neck flower lei) Making Workshop (traditional lei making by using long needle), Wine & Hawaiian Tea tasting with Food Board, & Karaoke fun! Friday, Oct 4th 5-8pm in Fallbrook!
Lei Kui is very traditional lei that wear around your neck, made by using long needle, it is pretty easy to learn but what’s more fun on this is that creating your own design with multiple flowers you can chose from. We will have late summer and fall blooms with lots of different colors. You will also learn a few tricks to use flower butts and unusual fillers. While you make your lei, you can get to taste some high quality wines from few local wineries such as in Temecula, in Escondido, in Fallbrook, also amazing food board from .boards in Valley Center!! If you don’t drink wines, we have Hawaiian Tea tasting as well. We will close the workshop by throwing karaoke time!
Let’s make a memorable last fresh flower lei making workshop for 2024!! Addition to that, portion of the proceeds go to help Equine Food Bank that assists horse owners who struggling to feed their horses. This was my personal project but I just wanted to share with y’all here!

This afternoon was a bittersweet afternoon. I met Robin and Ricky in 2020 when I moved back in Valley Center. Robin is one of the multi-discipline horse rider and trainer, well known in the world of cowboy challenge and working equitation, and many more. For me, she is also amazing horse rider. She can ride just about any horses in no time by she naturally connect with the horses, understand them and find her way to communicate with them. And Ricky, Robin’s one and only kinda husband. We worked together for the ranch duty, talked about Hawaii and where he grew up and where I raised my kids (same area in Los Angeles) and many silly things and share malasadas once in a while. I took care of their dogs often too. I will definitely miss them, but this is a new journey, a great one for them. I cannot be sad about them moving to Central Cali. This is a toss of tequila shot 😉 which we did 👍🏽 It is not a good bye, it’s a see ya later! Good luck out there, Robin & Ricky! I will visit you guys soon! **I got to know their senior horse Chapo when I arrived to the ranch in 2020. He was magnificent in very different way. I somehow connect with him easily, and when he crossed the bridge to be free, I decided to keep his shedded winter coat to make needle felt sculpture of Chapo. But I haven’t master the skills yet so I decided to make little keepsake with ti-leaf. Their leis and the keepsake making was fun project for me. I hope they like it.
