Last evening, while tearing down my equipment at 1:00am, a young gentleman came back into the facility, and asked me where the shuttle was. I alerted him that indeed, the shuttle had left a bit ago. He was completely stranded (coming from Green Bay), and didn't know what to do. Without hesitation, I let him know that I'd give him a ride to where he needed to get to, and not to worry. I was totally burnt out from the day, doing both ceremony, as well as the full reception, at two different locations. My body was shut down physically, my ears ringing from the music/guests, and I was not in the position to spend the extra time needed to get him where he needed to be.

It turns out, it was the Bride's brother, who wasn't familiar with the area. He had walked off, to have a conversation with a long lost friend, and lost track of the time. He told me: "At least it's on your way home." I told him: "This is DEFINITELY not on my home." In fact, it was in the complete opposite direction.

We got to his hotel, chatted a bit, and he told me: "You are like the best Wedding DJ/Dude I've ever met. Thanks for helping me get to where I needed to go."

Moral of the story: Treat people decently. I told him that I hope he passes this onto the next person he meets, who is in need of whatever, stranded out there, without a paddle...❤️
