I wanted to let you all know that due to a work-related event, this week's (mostly) weekly livestream will be taking place on Saturday, December 21st at 6:00 PM ET, instead of Friday!

It's easy for me to say "This edition of Radio SRO is going to be EXTRA-special," especially if I try to make *every* edition of Radio SRO extra-special, but tonight's going to be a big deal. One of the first selections in "The Groovy Train" segment (spoiler: immediately following "Kundalini Express") will be a track I've never played on the air before, but I recently read called "One of the best mixed songs of all time," "brilliant," "like a trip to your freedom," and "Arguably the finest dance mix ever done on a rock tune. Stunning fu***ng awesome!"
I'm not sure I'd go quite that far... but it is a pretty damned good remix.
Tonight, I'll be presenting what I believe will be an extraordinary set. And, yeah, I'll probably play "that one curveball" that people went all kinds of wacky about last weekend. If you were tuned in... you know the one.
It all begins TONIGHT - at 7 PM central time, with the club/dance set starting around 9 PM central after the intermission. Come... join us. Relax and join the international celebration that Radio SRO has become. Let's have some fun.

It seems like everybody is tooting their horns a bit this week, at least when it comes to listenership on a certain streaming platform.

Well, although we are not recognized on that platform, we thought that, in keeping with the braggadocious behavior exhibited by others, we would join in on the fun.

Please note that these numbers represent only the activity on the mixtapes we have posted and the archives of the livestreams, the live audiences that have participated in the streaming shows are not counted in these stats.

Thanks to all of you, representing 112 countries, for your kind listenership and loving support this year - We look forward to doing more and even better in 2025! Rock on.

Remember when Black Friday was a real event, a participation sport, even?

People would plan their Thanksgiving feasts to allow for ample time to head down to the local Circuit City (R.I.P.) or Sears (R.I.P.) to claim their place in line and wait 12 hours for the right to get their hands on the latest Garman GPS, the bestest digital camera, or the brightest plasma or DLP television.

Now BF has taken a path like many things in life, that is, now it is done mostly with a smart phone, tablet or laptop, while sitting in your pajama bottoms on the couch, and often days before the actual event on the calendar.

If only there was something else to happen on the day after Thanksgiving 2024 that could create a bit of excitement?

Please join me at 3:45 PM ET tomorrow (November 29th) in a valiant attempt to bring some meaning back to this day, and hopefully create a large virtual crowd of people that breathlessly await to see what musical bargain they will be offered next.

Okay, good news/bad news...

The bad news is I need a 3-D image to get a full and proper diagnosis... So they cannot resolve my dental issue today.

The good news is - I want to do a show today, I should be home in time to start no later than 4:30, perhaps 4:15, depending on the commute!

Be prepared for a first segment that is especially indulDJent today, and should go until at least the normal 7 PM ET ending time!

Breaking show news - I need to make an unscheduled visit to my dentist to tend to a tooth that is intent on messing up my entire day, or so it appears.

As a result, I must cancel today's (November 15th) scheduled livestream. I am very sorry that this has happened, it is possible I could do a show tomorrow (November 16th) if I feel up to it.

This is an example of the first DJ mixer we ever used while performing a live gig.

This fine piece of Radio Shack analog technology changed my life, and made it possible for three clueless college dudes to make a name for themselves, and at the same time enable thousands of students to shirk their scholastic responsibilities for several years.

We will be performing our (mostly) weekly livestream today (Friday, November 15th), beginning at around 3:45 PM ET today, using equipment that is not really that much better than what we were using in the mid-eighties, to be honest.

As you can tell, I went with the Halloween angle today, but that was not decided on until about 65 minutes into the show, so you will hear a very few "normal" songs in there early on.
