The members were concerned about not having an election. We want the membership to have a voice in IFSHA. We are listening to our members and will hold an election for the 14 who were nominated.

The ballot is being created and will go out Monday via email.

Attention all members!

We will be formally announcing our new IFSHA board members on Saturday 11/23/24. Keep an eye out in your email for this information.

From there, our board can hit the ground running and move forward in serving IFSHA and the members to the best of their abilities.

According to our IFSHA Bi-laws, we are not required to do a formal election for who is appointed to sit on the board as long as the number stays below 15.

"Section 4.02 Number and Qualification of Directors. The authorized number of Directors shall be no less than five (5) and no more than fifteen (15) until changed by amendment to this bylaw made pursuant to the provisions of Article X of these Bylaws. Directors need not be residents of the State of California. "

IFSHA Members,

As a member of IFSHA since the humble beginnings in 2004 and a board member for several years, I have volunteered my time and energy to serve an organization that has benefited many Friesian owners and trainers by providing opportunities to showcase the Friesian horse and Friesian crosses.I have also been a FHANA member and a runner on the Keuring circuit for 26 years, and was the first American invited and permitted to run Stallions at the prestigious HengstenKeuring.

I tell you this so that you may know my background and my passion for the Friesian horse, and my desire to continue having venues to show and enjoy these amazing horses.

I would like to invite those with sincere questions to contact me directly. I have always believed it best to go "straight to the horse's mouth" as there are always two sides to every story.

Please be mindful that I have a training operation and show schedule, so please allow me time to respond if I miss your call. I am happy to answer your questions to the best of my ability.

To the IFSHA membership:

We appreciate your patience during this time of transition.

As you may know by now, we have had resignations from the board of IFSHA, (Sandy Jacob, Gareth Selwood, Jamie Ceasar, Sam Goldmann, and Deb Goldmann our Executive Director).

The remaining board members, D J Brown, Bruce Griffin and Shirley Trail would like to keep IFSHA up and running to serve you the membership and our wonderful Friesian horses. We believe in IFSHA and would like to see it succeed. It is important to us that we
navigate the direction of IFSHA as the membership desires, based on your feedback.

That said, we need your help, as it is the membership of an organization that should be the governing body of the organization.

According to the By-Laws we can appoint board members, up to a board of 15 members. Any more than a total of 15 will require a vote of the membership.

We are asking for your input as the membership. We are asking for volunteers who would like to serve on the board of IFSHA, or you may nominate a prospective member to be on the board.

You have asked for change and that time is now!

Be the change and create the positive progress we need to bring this organization back.

In efforts to provide full transparency and allow everyone time to change their plans, we are announcing that the 2024 IFSHA National Show has been cancelled.

This decision was not made lightly. We heavily evaluated our finances and looked into various sponsors to ensure we could provide the quality show we have provided in the past. Overall, due to the current economy and circumstances out of our control we have made this decision.

We want to thank you all for your continued support and will keep everyone apprised of any updates.
