Aloha, everyone! Whew! It's been a minute, hasn't it? Life has been throwing me curveball after curveball the past year, but I'm beasting through each challenge like a boss. Get Me Growin isn't what it used to be, but I couldn't pass up our annual Aloha to Summer event with at on August 12th. This event just means so much to me.

My lei workshop has openings from 3p - 7p, so DM if interested. Adults $40/kids under 12 are $25. Groups of 5 are more will get a discount!

Also, I am taking orders for this design on a tee or Bella flowy tank. Price is $25 and all proceeds will go to help pay for these endless medical bills. Zelle or cash only please.

We had such a great time today with all of your beautiful, smiling faces! We got to meet some new faces, and get reacquainted with a repeat customer which absolutely melted my heart! It's a treat for me to be out and about, so as tired as I am right now it was well worth it!

I didnt get a chance to take any pics, but caught Sherlock here saying "Thank yooooou!" We sincerely appreciate your patronage. You make us love our job!

We are officially back for 2022! After what felt like a very long winter full of doc appointments, I am thrilled to be able to bring colorful succulents and cacti back to Virginia Beach with 2 events in April!

4/10 from 12-4pm - Earth Day celebration at Pembroke Mall 4554 VB Blvd in front of Coastal Edge. All vendors will be offering sustainable, earth friendly products!

4/16 from 11 - 3pm at VB Surf Sessions 2100 Mediterranean Ave for "Aloha for Joy!" This is guaranteed a good time with a Tropical themed vendor market, Hawaiian/Filipino fusion food by , live Hawaiian music and hula dancers! You won't want to miss this! We are still looking for more vendors at this event. Contact me for more info!

We are so sad that today's market at Farmhouse Brewing has been canceled, but we are warm and dry! It has been an amazing year and we are so thankful for each and every one of you that have followed, purchased from, or just gave words of support and love this year. We can't wait to show you whats in store for spring 2022.

With that said we totally rocked this week and made 12 succulent Christmas trees ranging from $39 up to $125. If you are interested, please feel free to send me a message. We will deliver to VB Norfolk and Chesapeake for free this week. (Please tip your driver. Its nasty out there! Be safe everyone and Happy Holidays!

Hi friends! I'm sorry I've been MIA. I made it through my first two weeks of chemo. Everything went well and I feel well enough to do a market tomorrow. Yay! I took some fresh succulent cuttings from my private collection and will have some Christmas trees available too!

It is with deep regret that we will not be at our scheduled markets this weekend at Selden and at Farmhouse Brewing. I have recently been diagnosed with cancer. Dont worry. We are doing well, but I must take some time for myself and my family this weekend.

To help with the expense of treatments, I do intend to do a few more markets before Christmas. I also plan to start posting succulent Christmas trees and other holiday arrangements for sale on Instagram. If you are looking for anything in particular, please don't hesitate to reach out to me via DM. I would love to help you find that rare/hard to find plant on your list 🤩
My next scheduled market will be Small Busines Saturday at Selden Market on 11/27. I do respectfully request that you help me stay safe by wearing a mask at my booth. Thank you so much for your understanding and I hope to see you soon!

My very talented, Insta-savy friend once told me that I need actual pictures of me on my page and that I need to introduce myself. Of course, my very awkward self, cringed on the inside because 1. I feel absolutely silly taking pictures 🤪 and 2. I feel like I am really not that interesting. 🤓 Luckily Annie is really good at her job and made it painless to be in front of her camera. If you ever need pictures done I, hands down, absolutely recommend her. If she can make me look good, then you are golden!
But...I digress... about that introduction. Please bear with me...
My name is Joy and I am the owner/Head Cheese in Charge at Get Me Growin'. I married my high school sweetheart, Ted, almost 20 years ago and we have three amazing children together: Joshua, Nathan, and Bella. When I am not with them you will either find me in the ocean 🏄‍♀️or in the garden🌺. But you're more likely to see at least one of them with me in either of these places.💗
Get Me Growin' started when my fascination with succulents started about 4 years ago. I found a seller on IG who was selling Korean imports and immediately was drawn to the candy like colors and shapes of these fascinating plants. That and the fact that I only had to water them every 3-4 weeks? What? These are right up my alley! That 1 pot full of succulents I had bought in October quickly turned my house into what looked like a greenhouse by the following Spring. Ted patiently shook his head and asked when am I going to start selling them because the house is starting to look like a store. I started making/selling arrangements and having little "potting parties" with small groups of friends before I started selling at farmers markets around the area. And... here we are today! Business has grown so much these last couple of years so now that the market season will be slowing down soon we are setting some time to reorganize and restructure our brand for 2022.
