Hello,
My name is Aucelia Corliss and I am a retired school teacher who now has time to pursue my passion for baking. I am a lifetime foodie, thanks to the influences of my father, who was a talented chef in the Navy and of my mother, who was a gifted cook of comfort foods for our family. I discovered the joy of baking early on, when I baked my first batch of chocolate chip cookies at the age of
ten. I collected cookbooks and tried out recipes. Many of them turned out well while others did not. For the recipes that I was unhappy with, I would tweak them until they met success. I became a supportive wife for my professional golfer husband, an enthusiastic soccer mom for our two sons and a dedicated Foreign Language teacher for my countless students throughout my career. Along with my different roles, I developed a reputation among family, friends and students as an accomplished and creative cook and baker. It was not uncommon for me to ask someone what his or her favorite dessert was, and for that person to then find that particular treat as part of the offerings at an upcoming event. In addition to my culinary abilities, I developed a knack for creating attractive tablescapes that captured the spirit of the particular event and showcased the prepared foods as their centerpiece. The saying "It takes a village to raise a child," can also be applied to nurturing and realizing a dream. My village of family, friends and former colleagues and students as well as the owners of the commercial kitchen that I use, gave me the courage to start a second career as a professional baker. Their love and support along with detailed planning and diligent work helped me establish Beach Treats LLC. My background as an educator combined with my love for baking and for creating decor for events help me succeed in this field because I pay attention to details, I relate to people well and I am committed to outstanding customer service. So . . , what's your favorite dessert?
