I know that this is a difficult time, especially if you were planning to celebrate. As of now, Ceremonies in New York can be performed virtually. Contact me if you'd like to find out about a Zoom ceremony instead of waiting for social distancing restrictions to be married and maybe plan a reception in the future. Stay Healthy!

Summer is here! Ceremonies at beaches, parks, and gardens are all popular this time of year. Into kayaking? Yes, you can have a ceremony while kayaking! What about at the spot we met or our first date? As long as there is permission from the venue, sure! Don't be afraid of ideas that resonate with you.

This popped up on my feed from November 4th, 2012:
In spite of everything going on, people are still living their lives. One of my couples is getting married today. The restaurant is lucky and has power, and I see no better time to celebrate that they are alive and well with friends and family. For some the only respite from cold is going somewhere, and there are no hot meals at home. I'm glad they were able to keep their date and give everyone a break from being without power for a few hours.

Do you have someone dear to you that you want to remember during your ceremony? You can set up a picture or candle, carry something of theirs or a photo charm (maybe attached to the boutonniere or bouquet), or even incorporate a remembrance on your wedding program or during the ceremony.

Ceremony tip- Make it yours. Bring pieces of your personality, hopes, family, culture, or hobbies in to your ceremony. The more it reflects you as a couple, the more memorable it will be. Your ceremony is not just another ceremony; it's YOUR ceremony.

October is a beautiful time to have a wedding. The changing colors of the leaves and fall harvest lend themselves to beautifully rich color themes. Outdoor ceremonies can be held in places that show off natures beautiful display: pumpkin patches, apple orchards, vineyards, cornfields, and on a hay-wagon come to mind. Need an indoor alternate? In a barn, wine tasting room, or wine cellar are some good options.

Ceremony tip- the weather doesn't always cooperate for outside ceremonies. Plan a back-up venue in case of inclement weather. Most times it's not needed, but preparing for it just in case is a huge stress saver!
