It was really cool watching these C-17s flying in yesterday to Maui. Little backstory, Garrett W. Marrero & Kami Irwin from Maui Brewing Co met one of the pilots during the August fires while one of the pilots was out here with his family and had to be evacuated & they ended up getting in contact with them to help them out. The squadron is out here again on training missions and they worked together also to get supplies from the mainland brought out on the C-17’s as a thank you for helping them during the fires. They are continuing to work on bringing more supplies out on further missions. The current 728th Airlift Squadron are the crews that landed here on Maui yesterday with 80 servicemen & women. Kami Irwin runs www.US13.org (a military nonprofit) that honors families who lose their loved ones, shows her love for the military, this country and what they all sacrifice.

A really great concert yesterday at the Sunflower Farm Music Festival that Pacific Biodiesel Technologies put on that had many artists including John Cruz that sang songs with students from Pōmaikaʻi Elementary School!
100% of the profits benefited three Maui-based non profits focused on supporting local farming and helping grow Hawaii's food security: Maui Hub Grow Some Good and Common Ground Collective
