Beauty in Bloom - Colchicum plant also known as Autumn Crocus and DBA Meadow Saffron or Naked Ladies Plant is highly toxic from bulb to petal. Born as a cousin of a true Crocus, the Colchicum is more so related to the Lily than the Iris; the family its Crocus cohort claims. Despite it's toxicity each part of the fabulous floral fägring is used in modern medicine. It wasn't until 2009 that the medicinal benefits of this flower were approved by the FDA. Despite manuscripted knowledge of it's benefits that date back to 1500 BC as well as the scientific isolation of the active ingredient "Colchicine"; the FDA drug it's feet for a mere 200 years to approve it.

One thing I've always been taught is in life is that whether you're spinning out of control in a car or just dealing with circumstances laid before you; steer into the skid.

Gerbera Daisies and I have had many long talks about how they need not be so spindly while I'm arranging, how they could look less like the eyes of a 🦉 and if they just hold still during arrangements I'd be oh so grateful.

Turns out this is one of those "Turn into the skid" kinds of things and I've been fighting it; until now.

Tomorrow one of my main features at the ABC Family Fun Fest will be these Gerberas in their most powerful form; part of the animal kingdom.

In College at OCCC I had a professor tell a story about how as a runner she wanted to learn to run faster. She expressed this desire to her sister who is her running partner. Her sister told her that in order to learn to run at a faster rate of speed she actually had to RUN FASTER. When you think you're going as fast as you can with as much strength as you can you are truly only limited to growth at the rate of speed you allow yourself to go.

If you wanna go big; think big.

I have big goals with this business and I have the capacity and motivation to obtain my goals and more. I have a growing and sturdy business plan, I have nearly completed one financial quarter almost exclusively on self allocated funding and business revenue. My next quarter has multiple high revenue days forcasted with Mother's Day, Memorial Day and Graduations throughout the county included. I know that I will be able to survive this busy quarter with my current operation and business plan.

However, I want to run faster.

Survival of the next quarter equates to a stagnant rate of speed which doesn't allow me to grow faster. So what's the plan?

Think bigger. Go bigger. Be Bigger.
