For the last 5 1/2 years we have had the privilege of raising 2 of our grandchildren. Today we are celebrating Rae’s 13th Birthday. We are so proud of the wonderful young woman you have become. May God continue to lead and guide your path. “Praise the Lord for He is good” My wife and best friend Janet L Johannsen has done an amazing job teaching her on how to live for the Lord.

One of the coolest things about starting is that it introduced me to the sport of Olympic Weightlifting. This year I don’t have to travel very far for the USA Masters Weightlifting Championships. I will lifting on April 10th at 3:30 in the Raising Canes River Center, Baton Rouge La.
My goal is to become the National Champion please come out and support the Masters Athletes from all over America.

Coming off my spine surgery in October. The only thing on my mind was being able to complete in the USA Masters Weightlifting National Championship in Baton Rouge on April 10th. To know that my nutrition, training, and coaching that I receive from Slingin' Iron Fitness is on point. This lifestyle isn’t for everybody, it’s for anybody willing to be better today than they were yesterday.

Coming off spinal fusion on October 10th I didn’t think about the Open or competing in the USA Masters Weightlifting Nationals in April. 75th out of 1923 athletes in the world. I think God is a pretty big deal!!
