Our Story
โHowโd you get into photography?โ The FIRST question Iโm asked whenever I tell someone my job is a Wedding and Portrait Photographer. It is always an expected response and one that I easily answer - I took film photography courses in High School and College and continually returned to between classes, jobs and (yes) after having babies of my own, and I genuinely love. Although I now photograph digitally this film background provides the foundation of my business to photograph Love Authentically. You know when you look at your polaroids your parents took of you, or your Grandparents wedding album or if youโre really lucky your Great-Grandparents pictures; they have a quality and depth to them that captures the moment AS IT WAS. Minimal posing, genuine smiles (or not!) and represent the actual time and day without filters.
โItโs either something you have or donโt, and she doesโ - my #1 fan, supporter and husband. Now if I said this, Iโd feel as if I was tooting my own horn. Having a job that you love, clients you love and a support system to allow you to continually invest in - new equipment, classes, workshops and traveling - makes it that much better. Itโs true that anyone can take a photograph, but thereโs more to a photograph then just capturing a picture. You have an eye for moments that others might not notice, lighting that trickles through the trees differently and how to gently guide clients into the pose thatโs most flattering without shouting orders.
This business didnโt grow overnight, and still isnโt done growing. I learn something from every session and never want to stop continuing to learn, build and perfect my images. I still get butterflies meeting new clients, and jump with excitement when Iโm hired to photograph a wedding. I cannot express how much it means to me to be chosen to photograph so many special milestones and how I cannot wait to meet and make so many new clients turned into friends.
