It has been a minute since y'all have seen me. The Fancy Lane community has definitely grown. Every inch we get closer to 1,500 followers makes my heart so so full. I am so excited and thankful for you all.

I have been practicing this activity with my team and thought it would be really cool to share.

🖤I am a Business Management and Marketing Major. Fun fact; I have an Associates in Biology that I don't use. I thought I wanted to be a scientist/mathematician.🖤

🖤I made the decision in 2016 to transition into a position that was heavily interweaved into the wedding industry. I started as a Wedding Manager and was promoted to Director of Marketing & Sales for a network of concepts. From this opportunity, I started my business in 2019.🖤

🖤The first thing I think about when working with our couples is their love story - the why and the experience.🖤

🖤My favorite foods are fruits and coffee. Lol!🖤

🖤My favorite books are The Outsiders and the The Giver.🖤

🖤I don't really have a favorite social media app, but I love the frivolous freedom of a person's stories. It is a great way for me to take a peak and then get back to work.🖤

🖤My favorite wedding day moment is when I get to share the "you're a baddie speech" right before the bride walks down the aisle. 🖤

Let me share my first couple's session experience with my husband. It hadn't ever dawned on me that the value of a photographer is also in the direction. I am not going to tear anyone down, but I will say this. There were many disconnects throughout the shoot synergy because my husband and I were given instructional direction for body angles that honestly made no sense. We had no idea how to show that in our body language or facial expressions.

The most value in your photographer is their direction and vision. Isn't this why we are attracted to them for the wedding day?

Because of my uncomfortable experience, I practice (professionally and personally) making a vision board for any photo shoot I am apart of.

Pin at least 12-15 photos that you feel embody the emotion and memories you would like to capture with the photographer and/or videographer in that moment. Share your board with them. This imagery will create a dialogue.

My favorite luxury about working with a wedding photographer is their honesty. You have the advantage of utilizing their expertise and recommendations to achieve your vision.

Because of this, they are able to recommend a proper setting and direction to get the best results. You are able to connect more with your vendor. The relationship is no longer distant. Now, you can trust and lean on them - an ability you will want to do the day of.

Don't be afraid to discuss the "What If's". You will receive the best return on your investment to create a back up plan (from resources to changes in the timeline
and layout).

Unity Ideas Anyone? Let's talk about The Three Strand Cord.

The Pettaways decided to partake in the The Strand Cord Unity for their ceremony.

The Cord of Three Strands symbolizes the joining of one man and one woman by God into a marriage relationship. Marriage takes three; you, your soon to be spouse, and God.

The only advice I have for you is to remember to practice.

During the weekly countdown, this is one of the action items I encourage couples to complete. Reviewing and potentially practicing helps the two of you look and feel confident the day of. (ex: how the cords will be held, what will the officiant say to queue the cord braiding, who will have the cords before they are needed, etc.)
