Military In Transition Firefighter For A Day

Another successful MITFFAD event! Love this group and all it represents!

Spending an amazing day at the Fire Training Center working with transitioning Veterans interested in becoming firefigthers or working within that industry. A special thank you to each of the Veterans who participated! We are extremely grateful for your service to this great Nation and use these events as our way to thank you for all you do! We'd also like to thank Deputy Fire Chief Ward and the firemen of along with Chief Michel who sent his team led by CPT Mertz from for providing their engines, manpower and extensive fire knowledge & expertise; to CAPT Shanley of and Marc Adams of for their insight into additional careers opportunities in SoCal; to Courtney & Jen of the Wounded Warrior Project for sharing the benefits of their program; a huge debt of gratitude to our sponsors for the super soft tshirts; and who sponsors each of our quarterly MITFFAD lunches. Happy New Year to all! One of the new items Serenity will be doing in the New Year is featuring some of the amazing events my clients are hosting along with some of the events I assist in putting on in my ‘spare’ time with organizations I donate my time and energy to. We’ll call it Serenity’s Feature Friday! This week, I’d like to dedicate the space to the Distinguished Speaker Series (DSS) hosted at the University Club atop Symphony Towers.

The goal of the DSS it to feature San Diego's leading innovators and pioneers as part of a monthly speaking program in an intimate and engaging environment. We present current leaders who are making a positive impact in the community and in their industries with each program designed to provide members and visitors to the Club with empowering information and tools to grow as business people, community members and leaders.

I, along with my Committee members, welcome you to join us as we kick off the New Year with The Distinguished Speaker Series, now in its 18th year, with nationally renowned DeAnne Steele. DeAnne is Managing Director and Investment Executive at U.S. Trust, Bank of America, Private Wealth Management. DeAnne will address the Economic and Financial Market Outlook for 2018, putting you in firm control of your financial destiny.
