The State of Black Health According to the Black Nurse: The Evolution of the Black Nurse & Health Equity. 2 days of celebrating nurses, exploring strategies for empowering communities, honoring and cultivating leadership, giving back through scholarship, understanding the role of policies in perpetuating or mitigating health inequalities and paying homage to the Black nurses who helped shape the lives of many.

There are folks that mention your name in rooms that you are not in because they believe in you. Our brother, mentioned and the brunch to a friend, writer and food culturist and it resulted in a feature in the New York Times (October 2020). The brunch was featured in a piece regarding HBCU Homecoming Food Traditions. He’s been a constant supporter of the brunch and works tirelessly for Howard serving in a number of roles with

Quick backstory, our brother and his brother AND his mother and father went to (Class of '69
Golden Bison - legacy in and of itself). Our brother started taking pictures with the same camera his father shot with. Both parents have attended the brunch on multiple occasions.

One week from today we welcome you to our tenth anniversary of The Brunch. Some of you are not new to this but true to this (OBers)! But for those of you who are new to this here are a few rules of engagement.

1. Tickets will be sold at the door for general admission only. There will not be any brunch tickets for sale at the door. You can pay via cashless entry (CashApp and PayPal).

2. Brunch will be available from 11:00AM - 2:00PM. Brunch menu will be posted again. An abbreviated bar menu will be available during the day party.

3. For those of you who purchased a cabana or table, an email will be sent tomorrow asking for specific information. Please reply by Wednesday, 10/18. This is a hard deadline.

4. Attire is brunch chic, clean and casual. Ladies leave the heels at home!

5. There is street parking but you can also park immediately across the street in the garage. THRōW social offers a discounted $6 for all of our attendees. Please refer to the Eventbrite for more details.

6. Please come with an attitude of gratitude. Life has been lifin’ and we have been working hard to make this another memorable experience. We are grateful for your love and support. Until next Sunday!

A moment of gratitude and transparency.

I arrived to this resort after suffering the most difficult loss in my life. I needed rest and rejuvenation and provided that and more.

Having coordinated two weddings and having the pleasure of staying at in Middleburg, I was excited to stay at a Salamander collection. It did not disappoint. The resort offers a luxurious and idyllic retreat. The service is top-notch, and I can’t say enough about the staff. They were not only professionals but they displayed warmth and love. I arrived a perfect stranger but I was loved on like family through smiles, hugs, beautiful conversations and hospitality. Thank you for spreading one love! 🇯🇲❤️
