Two talented photographers, and each masters of their craft, paused to capture one another through their lenses—a moment of admiration and collaboration that speaks volumes about their bond and dedication to storytelling.

As October comes to a close, we want to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month by highlighting two incredible women who’ve bravely faced breast cancer and continue to inspire us with their strength.

We’ll never forget the moment walked into our brunch, announcing she was cancer-free (slide #2). Nearly 13 years later, she radiates joy, gratitude, and love, pouring into others with a spirit that shows she truly cherishes life.

recently became a breast cancer survivor, undergoing surgery just over a month ago. She passionately encourages women to get their mammograms and cancer screenings. Her joy remains unwavering, her voice as powerful as ever and she sings from the depths of her heart. Attending our brunch for the first time, she lit up the room (slides #3 & #4).

We’re in awe of these women’s resilience and their commitment to celebrating life!

Ladies, please prioritize your health. Schedule your mammograms and early screenings—we need you here! 💕

We were proud to team up with and for the brunch and take part in crucial voter engagement efforts! Although scheduling conflicts prevented a direct representative from attending, there’s always a Bison in the room. Georgia State Representative reminded us of the importance of this election season and shared that there are several Bison on the ballot! Inga is running to move Georgia forward, standing strong as a servant leader dedicated to social justice and impact. Let’s support her in her efforts and let’s also exercise our right to vote!

Nothing about this brunch or picture is performative—this is family, love, and unity. We’re with our brothers and DJs, grounding ourselves in gratitude and reflection. Every connection is intentional, every moment real, every prayer is meaningful.

Our brother looked us in the eyes and said, “Let’s pray”. And on the stage, in the middle of brunch with several people looking at us…we held hands and he led us in prayer. This is Brunch is so much more than a party. It is purpose driven by our Creator.

One week from today we welcome you to our 11th annual Howard Homecoming Brunch. Some of you are not new to this but true to this (OBers= Original Brunchers AKA, our Day ones). But for those of you who are new to this here are a few rules of engagement.

1. Tickets will be sold at the door for general admission only. There will not be any brunch tickets for sale at the door. You can pay via cashless entry (CashApp and PayPal…QR code will be provided).

2. Brunch will be available from 11:00AM - 3:00PM. Brunch menu slide #2. An abbreviated bar menu will be available during the day party.

3. For those of you who purchased a cabana or table, an email was sent (and 2 follow up emails) asking for specific information. We had a hard deadline and if you haven’t responded we will do everything in our power to accommodate your party but we have passed our deadline.

4. Attire is brunch chic, clean and casual. Ladies leave the heels at home! Rock your flyest HU gear. Slide #3

5. There is street parking but you can also park immediately across the street in the garage. THRōW social offers a discounted $6 for all of our attendees. Please refer to the Eventbrite for more details.

6. If we haven’t communicated with you that you are on the list…then you are not on the list. 🤷🏽‍♀️. Please don’t come to the door asking for us. Please don’t call us asking for us to come and get you at the door. We love you but we have a business to run.

7. Our brothers & DJs will be rocking events all weekend & will be pushing to make it to the finish line, show them love, buy them a drink & more importantly dance! No wallflowers. Please note we are not responsible for your edges being sweated out! Slides #4, 5, 6

If you have not subscribed to the Urban Elegance, LLC mailing list or are not following any of our social networks, it’s best that you do so to stay informed and get the link. Lastly, we are releasing cabanas sparingly as we did last year. Therefore, they will not all be available for sale day 1. Please understand there are only so many cabanas available for sale so we can’t sell more than 1 to a party.
