SO proud to create florals for this epic collaboration between X
This design graced the dining room table at Sycamore House. I went with a modern twist on a garden style design by using only chocolate Queens Anne’s Lace and Nine bark Diablo foliage (not one mass flower in sight!!)

I am so excited to be able to FINALLY share this with you!!
I am happy & proud to have been invited by to create many of the stunning florals for his first book ‘Artful Home’ which was just released on 9/3 🎉 I learned so much from this experience and it was truly a dream come true to work with Josh, the amazingly talented photographer and Josh’s incredibly warm & kind husband (I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Miss Maggie 🐶)
To quote Konstantin Stanislavski, “There are no small parts, only small actors.” Grateful to contribute my floral talents to this beautiful book filled with art! Let’s discuss something ⬇️🌸
I often get asked WHY I still take floral design courses. The answer is quite simple-i am always a student. I truly love learning!! There’s so much knowledge about flowers and floral design and most importantly expanding my creativity. I also get asked if these new design techniques “sell” to my clients. Not always! BUT I love knowing that I have a tremendous wheelhouse of ideas and techniques to offer my clients IF they want something truly unique! I’m here for all of it!

VERSATILITY: I sourced these gorgeous mock orange branches for an editorial photo shoot 2 months ago with Framebridge & Josh Young Design House.

“Less is more BUT you know when to stop” this quote from hit me hard when I heard it during his workshop this past Saturday
Why? Because for me, so much of me/my designs is about more is more. A huge lesson that I keep relearning is to keep things more simple. So much of creativity is stretching beyond one’s comfort zone. I am always open to taking creative risks and pushing boundaries. Thats why I I love to keep taking classes with Master floral artists! Not because I don’t see myself a floral artist. I believe in myself & my creativity however, I haven’t hit my own personal goal yet… I may never hit that goal and that’s okay!! I keep my heart & mind open to what is possible. The road doesn’t end when you achieve something or earn the right to add initials after your name. It is all a cycle of endings and new beginnings.
This is why I commit to learning about new design styles/mechanics/techniques/new flower varieties any opportunity I get!! The journey is limitless!! Thank you for bringing World Class floral designers for us to observe and learn from!! I look forward to learning, practicing and sharing what I have learned and observed with each of you 🖤🖤🖤

An exploration of complex emotions through flowers… Anger (red with textures exploding out of Medusa’s head captured mid-scream in her anger), Envy (green with botanicals sprouting out of the head of Marie Antoinette-as her eyes are fixated upon something that she does not have and wishes she had ), Depression (dark purples and gestural flowers to echo the tears streaming down the small goddess’s face), Sadness (blues/purples & round mass flowers with the look of resignation on Athena’s face),
childhood memories of the made up monsters in our heads represented by the trio of doll heads and last but not least Venus (pastels colored florals representing beauty and happiness).
These floral designs were inspired by the headless Greco-Roman statue in the outdoor garden They were created in March 2024 for Art in Bloom DC 2024 .dc
Each of those emotions (anger, envy, depression, sadness, childhood monsters and happiness) correlates to a design (head).
I created multiple potential heads for the headless statue—allowing the viewer to choose which head/mental state they wanted to see for the headless body. I intentionally went for darker emotions rather than just choose happiness. I chose florals that would hopefully help to make the emotions clear to the viewer. From personal experiences, my mind can travel through many of these emotions within a day—sometimes even within an hour. It’s an acknowledgment of our own complex emotional states and being able to express them, not shy away from them.
As a floral designer, I create from a place where I see myself as a “floral translator” for my clients, expressing through flowers the emotions/vibe that my clients want to convey.
