A Taste of New Orleans Food Truck just opened up for more bookings through the week!

Good morning Facebook family. Hopefully everyone had a wonderful weekend. We are currently opening up our food truck schedule to serve more. So our new food truck schedule is Tuesday through Saturday. So we are looking for new places to come park so many people can get our great food!!! Please let us know where you would like to see us. Message us if you know of any specific spaces we can park in. We love office buildings, hospitals, businesses, schools, high traffic areas, pretty much anywhere where hungry people will be. Keep us posted! See you soon.

If you’ve never tried Sauce Bosses BBQ what are you waiting for?

This year has been off and I did a lot of soul searching this week while we closed from the heat. This was going to be a long winded post about how we started as a competition team and I went off and did more competitions and started this food truck by myself. About going back to school in my 40's to be a chef and that midlife career change. How I just am not big enough to keep full time employees year round, and how those employees found jobs without crazy food truck hours during the off season and I am happy for them. How, trying to hire a person to work 2 hours a day basically on an on call status has been impossible.

Instead this post is about me accepting I am Sauce Bosses BBQ, I am not as big, as out spoken, or have the social presence as others in the local BBQ family. Between comparing myself to the other BBQ places, staffing and supply issues have caused my fire to get dirty and nearly go out. Instead this week I focused on adjusting my air vents realizing I do not need a brick and mortar, I do not need a bunch of staff, and I do not need a bunch of popularity awards. In doing this I have gotten my fire burning again reigniting my passion as a chef and pit master to serve what I feel is some of the best BBQ and fusion cuisine around. I cannot wait to see you at the trailer as it is you that makes this all possible.

We were heartbroken to hear about the fire that destroyed another Bellevue business, Nettie’s Mexican Restaurant, right before Christmas. Nettie’s is family-owned and has been a part of our community since 1987 serving some of the best Mexican food around.

As a small, family-owned restaurant ourselves, we know how absolutely devastated we would be to watch our family’s legacy go up in flames and the severe hardship that it would cause for our staff.

As the Nettie’s family begins the process of putting the pieces together and planning for the road ahead, their first concern is making sure their staff (whom they consider family) are taken care of.

Garrett Sims has organized a gofundme account (https://gofund.me/8a4ad8cb) to raise money to help the “Nettie’s Family” (wait staff, cooks, and support team) during this difficult time.
