regarding voting:

If you have moved here (Ellis County, Texas) from another county in Texas and failed to register by the Texas Voter Registration cutoff date, you can still vote a limited ballot only during early voting at the main Ellis County election voting site. DO NOT GO BACK TO YOUR FORMER COUNTY or PRECINCT as you will no longer be allowed to vote there. If you wait to try to vote on Election Day November 5, you will only be able to vote a provisional ballot which will likely not be counted but will register you for your new address. Be sure you bring a government issued photo I.D. The Ellis County Elections website will have lots of good information and even a sample ballot. Check it out before you go.
