I remember being broke for Christmas one year after food shopping and paying the bills and wrote a post dated check to make sure I could provide a good Christmas for my family. I’ve lived as high and as low as it’s possible to go. There were times I’d put $10 worth of gas in my tank and other times $50. I’ve had $5 to just feed myself and I’ve also had $200 to go out to eat. I’ve had a house full of food and times I didn’t have any. I’ve been in stores cashing out with no worries and I’ve also had to add it up and put things back on the shelf. I’ve paid my bills in full and I’ve had to pay them late too. I’ve given money and I too have had to ask for it.
We all have highs and lows in life. Some certainly more than others, but we are all just trying to make it.
No one is better than anyone else and my heart is sad for those people who think that they are. No matter how big your house is, how new your car is, or how much money sits in your bank account - we all bleed red and will eventually fade from this earth. Death has no discrimination and neither should your life.
Be kind to others. We are all here to serve. Stop the power tripping. Your oversized ego won’t get you anywhere.
Be humble.
Very few will actually read this far, but if you’re genuine I challenge you to copy. Most won’t, because they’re the type of people I’m talking about.💜

Just found out that a friend was scammed. He thought he was registering for a car show in advance.

Be careful before registering online for anything that the person you are paying is part of the event.

The scammers usually put a post in the discussion thread on an event page. Always verify the person you are paying is really with the show.

Edward Clayton Christopher Nicholson
9-20-1983 / 9-23-2023 1:19pm

Today the world is a little dimmer.

Edward has drawn his last breath with his closest family around him. His mother, step mother, god mother, dad and friend Julie, spent the last hours reminiscing about all the great things we have to remember Edward by. All the while I was getting text messages from friends, also telling me things like, "I have never heard a negative word about Edward in all the years I knew him." (Alex)

He walked in his own shadow, he did things his own way. He never judged and always had a smile for anyone who wanted it. In the last 20 months while he fought lung and brain cancer, he never complained. I would always ask him, "How are you today?" His answer was always the same, "I feel good Dad." Even though I knew this was not true.

As anyone who knew Edward will tell you, he was not just a super hero fan, He was a collector, he was a Historian. He knew every line of every superhero movie. TV Shows and even knew the credits. He could tell you who the best boy was in each movie also when other movies they worked in.

He had more friends than I can count. Everyone he touched fell in love with Edward, Bill and Pam Kapolka and Deneen, have been a blessing and always kept in touch. When Edward would go to Milan Dragway, they would suit him up with a work vest and he would walk around the pits collecting cans and bottles. Usually coming home with $100.00 in deposits or more per day, And I even knew that Pam would slip him a few bucks like he was getting paid to do it.

He loved his freedom, never letting his Autism get in the way. Edward walked a mile each way to work before the pandemic and all the cancer treatments. It didn't matter what the weather was, he actually felt insulted if you wanted to drive him to work.

Years ago, he fell and had to get stitches. He was about 4 years old then. Bedtime was 7:00pm, They tried to knock him out with nose drops. But he kept singing the Barney song like a drunken sailor. Come 7:00pm, he went right to sleep, The Doctor stitched him up and we went home. They never saw anything like it.

And once again Edward is having his own way. The Doctors said that once they took him off life support, that he would probably go slowly in an hour or three. I am writing this letter after 10 hours of sitting by his side and he is still going strong.

Sadly, His brain bleed has gotten so large that he will never have a quality of life. With the last two stays in the hospital, they have been unable to give him chemo, so his lung cancer is growing. It's time for Edward to sleep and stop the pain. Even though, if he could talk he would say, I feel good Dad.

Edward and I had a great summer together traveling to many places. We all went to Washington DC and Edward met his nieces for the first time in person. We enjoyed the new Air and Space museum.

Then Edward and I went to Metropolis Illinois to see the Superman Museum. This was a very special trip for us. Edward usually falls asleep once he is in the van. But every trip this summer, he was awake and talking with me the whole trip. We stop along the way to do some sightseeing. Watched the boats on the river. And posed with the Lois Lane Statue and next to the Daily Planet monument. We even ate at places that served food other than pizza.

Our third trip was to Ottawa Canada, Edward enjoyed a long weekend with his mother and family while I visited relatives and checked out the local car shows and cruises.

Edward will be missed, but we have so many great memories of his life with us. He will never be forgotten.

We will be hosting a celebration of life. Stay tuned, Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel for where and when.
