Six days until Christmas—
are you ready, friends?

The calendar flips like a restless child,
six pages left before the morning arrives
with its riot of paper and ribbon and light.
The tree stands guard in the corner,
needles whispering secrets to the floor,
while outside the window, snow rehearses its lines
or the rain keeps time on the roof—
whichever sky your town borrowed this year.

Six days.
Cookies cooling on racks,
lists half-checked, half-forgotten,
gifts hidden in closets like shy conspirators.
Carols leak from every speaker,
some joyful, some exhausted,
all true.

Six days to wrap the last surprise,
to mail the card that almost didn’t make it,
to forgive the year for everything it was
and thank it for everything it gave.

Six days until the world pauses,
breathes cinnamon and pine,
and remembers how to be soft.

Are you ready?
Really ready—
not perfect, just present?

The clock is ticking in silver bells.
Six days left.
Let’s open our hands
and meet it halfway.
