Weslaco ISD will be hosting a Christmas concert free of charge to the public on Thursday December 17, 2015 at the Bobby Lackey Stadium practice field from 5pm to 11pm. Noche de Paz will feature a concert emcee’d by the legendary Johnny & Nora Canales duo, food and game booths that is sure to provide a night filled with fun for the entire family. Neighboring communities are welcome to join in the

festivities. “The Holiday season brings a sense of giving of ourselves and sharing the joy with everyone. We welcome everyone to join us to this family event,” Dr. Ruben Alejandro, WISD Superintendent of Schools said. The effort of producing the event are being shared by each of the 20 campuses that make up Weslaco ISD. Each school principal is taking an active role in providing the booths and activities for the event. It is through this collaboration that a true display of ‘strength in unity’ will be evident. With a student population of just under 18,000 students, and the active participation of each of the 20 schools, the event is expected to generate a minimum of 15,000 people in attendance.
