On small business Saturday I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support this year. Though the season may be over, my gratitude certainly isn’t. The flower stand is a wonderful hobby for me and I work hard to make sure the profits go to worthy causes. Together we sent a sizable donation to a sanctuary for abused woman and children when an opportunity to help presented itself last week. I am hopeful that our contribution will find a family at their greatest time of need. I had one other goal for the flower stand this year- my 12 year old son Jordan has shown quite an aptitude for the tuba and through your generous support of the stand we were able to get him his very own horn this fall! Maybe this Spring you’ll stop by for flowers and hear him practicing! Thank you for sharing flowers with me. I am so proud of what we were able to accomplish together❤️

All tucked in for a long winter’s nap! I thought you might like to see the inside of the coolers- I lasagna-layer cleaned clumps in the boxes with corse vermiculite. I’ll put them up in our attic until mid-February and drag them back down and begin the process of splitting the clumps. Pretty excited to be done! And yes…. It does look like a cat box…😜😜😜

The Spring dreaming has begun! Last Fall I planted 30 new Hellebores, many snow drops and a few hardy cyclamen in a protected, shady corner and it seems like they are all happy with lots of new growth- can’t wait to see what comes in mid-March❤️

Only a few more tuber pictures, I swear!!! (But every single one of them is in the basement👊💪👍) This tuber clump is a product of a cutting- breaking off a new sprout and rooting it soil or other medium. Sometimes they struggle to make tubers and sometimes they do this- Insane! Thank you so much to my friend for sharing the beautiful Robin Hood with me!

Huge shout out to my mom and dad for spending the afternoon digging and trimming with me up at .acres As you can see… not only does the epic soil provided by the horses make beautiful flowers, the tubers are absolutely insane…. This is a situation here… I’ll process as many as I can….🙄🙄🙄

Mr. Franz wins the award for most beautiful, totally useless dahlia. Absolutely stunning in the garden but if you dare cut it (or look at it…😂😜😂) he drops his petals… used it for some event work with a disclaimer but I guess just a good one to gaze at! Dahlias made it through the cool night but have slowed way, way down- let’s see what the next few warm days bring!!!

There are a few fresh jars on the stand this morning- maybe a few more next weekend??? Watching tonight’s forecast .acres Pretty darn close… we’ll just have to see… even if it doesn’t frost we are battling the diminishing daylight… the dahlias have been cracking for almost 3 months so one way or another the end is near!

So that 3 inches of rain that was not in the forecast….??? The flowers are so wet and I just won’t sell them until I know they are dry, unbroken and the best I can offer. There are some nice zinnia jars on the cart but dahlias will have to wait until either this afternoon or tomorrow… really sorry and I’ll keep you posted!
