Red Barn Brewing will have a beer garden for you to enjoy at the 93rd Annual Danville Community Fair on August 3rd! They will open at noon with Beer, Wine and Hard Seltzers 🍻

We’re looking ahead to a busy weekend and a full week of events, with the next Food Truck Popup @ The Pavilion and St. J Final Fridays coming up!

At the same time, we’re reflecting that it has only been one week since St. Johnsbury and surrounding towns were hit by massive flooding. Although visible damages have mostly disappeared in St. J, our flood-affected businesses and individuals STILL need your help.

Our new blog post shares opportunities to contribute, with links to business fundraisers for Sasquatch Motorsports and Dog Mountain, and and ALL NEW flood relief fund for individuals from Locally Social Gives, Inc.

W O W. The sun itself may not be out, but our CSA gardens are chock full of absolutely gorgeous sunflowers! will be back on Tuesday, along with Root 5 Farm, who will offer a tasting of their krauts and kimchi. Dinner and a tasting next to the flower garden? Yes, please!

This Tuesday, the 25th, we’ll be with .johnsbury for the Food Truck Popup at the Pavilion. There will be a lot of great food vendors and the weather is looking good. We will be serving with vegan and gluten free options. AND there will be live music by Barry Hayes​ and face painting by Denelle Noyes, starting 5:30pm We hope to see you there.

Yep, it’s the dreaded heat dome and we’ll be at Sweetland Farm this Tuesday to do the cooking for you. In addition to their beautiful veggies and array of goodies in the farm store they have a great selection of cold drinks and ice cream. A perfect way to wind down a hot day. It’s cabbage kimchi day! It’s starts with a lot of chopping and soaking the cabbage in a salt bath. The sauce is MiYe’s grandmother’s recipe with garlic, onions, carrots and daikon radish. The cabbage is rolled in the sauce and prepped for storage. Placed in jars and lock lid containers it goes in our kimchi refrigerator. These refrigerators moderate the temperature to keep kimchi fresh and maximize probiotic production. Now we have plenty of cabbage, daikon leaf and daikon water kimchi ready to go.

June 4th will kick off our regular summer schedule with us being there the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from June through September. We always look forward to going to this great farm with their amazing crew, beautiful veggies and all the friendly people who stop in for their pickup and to visit their store. (Truth be told, we’re also kind of hooked on the lemon blueberry soda). We hope to see you there this summer.

We’re here at Sweetland Farm for their first CSA pickup of the year. We’ll be serving MiYe’s amazing food until 6:30.

Do you know what’s great? New recipe days. Somebody has to be the taste tester. MiYe is working out a recipe for new menu item, honey garlic chicken. Battered and fried, rolled in the sauce, back in the pan to finish. After that it goes on a plate for the tasting and it is fantastic.

MiYe, never one for sitting still for long, has been making big batches of mandu. It starts with mixing up a large bowl of the filling, stuffing and folding hundreds of shells, placing it all in a steamer and let the magic happen. At this point the mandu can be fried, eaten as is ( my favorite) or used in soups such as ramen or oxtail soup.

This Friday at the Fairlee Town Hall. Celebrate the Day of the Dead with great music, costumes and dancing. Fancy Pete’s and Chef Nando of Moon and Stars fame will be there cooking up some amazing Korean/Colombian fusion arepas. It’s going to be great.

The days are shorter and the nights colder. That can only mean one thing. It’s soup season. We’ll be this Saturday, 21 October, serving along with MiYe’s We hope to see a big crowd come out to support a great cause, join us at our last event of the year and maybe let us do the cooking for you.
