The Francisco Farmfest cannot happen unless we have volunteers. This year we had an amazing group! As we prepared for Farmfest, there were a lot of things that needed to be done concerning setup. These are the pictures throughout August leading up to September 16th. Everyone worked so hard and diligently to bring the old school grounds back to life.
A Huge Thank You is in order to this group and to ALL the volunteers that made our beloved Farmfest a success!!

A few announcements...

1. Francisco Farmfest pictures will be posted to this page soon.

2. Over the next several months, this page will become less active until the first of the year. Please continue to follow the page though as it will transition to Francisco Farmfest 2024 starting in January.
We will continue to keep everyone updated on our future event here. Meetings and times will be posted here as well.

*If you'd like to be part of Francisco Farmfest 2024, whether you'd like to be a volunteer, vendor, musician, or you'd just like to help out in anyway, please attend any upcoming meetings this year. We'd like to continue to see Francisco Farmfest grow into a bigger and better venue for everyone! Thanks!

Thank you to everyone that came out today to support Francisco Farmfest! We appreciate everyone that helped in anyway whether you were a vendor, tractor parade participant, spectator/visitor, volunteer, demonstrator, musician or just came out to see what was going on....we appreciate you! Thanks again for helping make this event a success!

This was our first time having Farmfest (back at the original location) since the pandemic and it was great to see everyone out having a good time!

**Parking for Francisco Farmfest tomorrow**

Everyone attending tomorrow's event, please enter the school grounds from White Dogwood Rd (this is the gravel driveway beside the tennis/basketball courts). There are signs there, as well as attendants, that will help direct you where you need to go. This is for all visitors, vendors, musicians, people bringing tractors, etc.

* Handicap parking will be available directly in front of the building for those needing it.

* General parking will be in the big field directly in front of the fire department.

* Tractor parade/show participants bringing tractors by truck and trailer will be allowed to park on the old ball field.

* Musicians, there will be a spot marked for you between the old Ag building and the baseball backstop near the woods closer to the stage.

Just wanted to give everyone a little "heads up" so everything (hopefully) will run smooth with parking tomorrow!

This upcoming Saturday, September 16th, is the 🌻Francisco Farmfest!!🌻
Please remember to bring your chairs, and all guests should enter through the main entrance at the Welcome Center!!

Here is EVERYTHING that we will be having this year!! We will have a Welcome Center, 26 Vendors, 2 Tractor Parades along with a Tractor Show (Expecting 50+ Tractors!!), 16 Unique Raffle Prizes, the famous Baker's Corner, Bluegrass and Country Music from 4 different Bands, To***co Tying Demostration and Contest along with the Premier of "Gathering The Golden Leaf" video, Hotdogs, Bologna Sandwiches, and of course, Loads of FUN!! Please see all pictures below for some of the featured vendor items, Farmfest Schedule and other important information.

Raffle Tickets will still be available the day of Farmfest!

Here are some DIRECTIONS to the Francisco Farmfest this upcoming Saturday!

▪︎From Mt. Airy:
Take Hwy 89 E (turn at the Derby Restaurant) and follow Hwy 89 for 19 miles into Francisco. The Francisco Farmfest will be in the Right.

▪︎From Pilot Mtn:
Take Old Westfield Rd approx. 7 miles. At the stop sign, take a right onto Hwy 89 E. Go approx. 8 miles into Francisco. Francisco Farmfest will be on the Right.

▪︎From Danbury:
Take Hwy 89 W for approx. 11 miles into Francisco. The Francisco Farmfest will be in the Left.

▪︎From Stuart:
Take VA- 8 (SW) to State Route 660 (Five Forks Rd) on the Right and go approx. 4 miles. At the stop sign, take a Left on Aaron's Corner Church Rd and go approx. 1.3 miles. At stop sign, take a Right onto NC Hwy 704 W and go approx. 2.5 miles. At stop sign, take a Right onto NC Hwy 89 and go approx. 1.2 miles. Francisco Farmfest will be on the Left.

Here is the Francisco Farmfest Schedule for this upcoming Saturday! Please remember to bring a chair with you!

We will be having (4) Bands playing Bluegrass and Country Music, (26) Vendors, a Tractor Show along with (2) Tractor Parades, To***co Tying Demostration & Contest along with the premier of "The Gathering of the Golden Leaf" video, (16) Raffle Prizes, Bakers' Corner, Hotdogs and more!

Our vendors will be selling and demonstrating throughout the day. We will have Honey, Wooden Crafts, Jewelry, Glass, Fried Apple Pies, Rope Bowls, Artisan Soaps, T-shirts, Doggy Do-Ragz, Bags, Homemade Ice Cream, and so much more!! This is the perfect opportunity to get some unique homemade Christmas gifts or to just simply treat yourself!

Our Francisco Farmfest wouldn't be complete without The Bakers' Corner!!

The Bakers' Corner was always one of the most popular spots at FarmFest, for some visitors, it was the main attraction. People would make a special trip just to buy something. This year we've been learning just how much people from all over have loved it and how excited they are that it's back. So be sure to stop by and buy something for your sweet tooth!

Here are some of the best-known great bakers who'll be donating this year: Sylvia Burton, Susan Collins, Thadia George, Doris Jessup, Sylvia Jessup, Sharon McGeeney, Kathy Rogers, Virginia Vaden.

This year at Francisco Farmfest:

❌️ We will NOT be allowing any pets on the premises.

❌️ NOT even pets on leashes.

❌️ Pets providing emotional support, comfort, companionship, or well-being are NOT recognized as Service Animals under ADA regulations.

✅️ The ONLY pets allowed will be Service Animals.
(*A "Service Animal" is defined by the ADA as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. Service Animal Certification will be required.)

Dan River Poultry (owner Amber Freeman) will be joining us Saturday, September 16th for Farmfest. These are screen shots of a message that was sent to our admins of this page earlier today. I believe it to be a scam because once the link is clicked on, they are asking personal information irrelevant to the page. I have messaged "Meta" back to see what "copyright violations" we have made and ask for proof of such accusations. I have yet to receive a response. If anyone sees anything wrong/offensive with what we have posted to the page, please message the page and we will correct it immediately. Our motto every year at the Francisco Farmfest is "Homegrown and Homemade". There will be a To***co Tying tent complete with To***co Leaves, Cotton Twine, Old To***co Tying Sleds, and Tie-horses. You can learn about the Old Way of Harvesting To***co, To***co Tying and the Curing Process that was done for many generations before machines took over. You can even try your hand at Tying To***co!

Thought I'd share this from the Our Communities of NW Stokes page.
If you were a student/athlete at North Stokes during this man's time there, whether you know it or not, you were lucky.
Mr. Hart has been a member of this group/organization since the very first Farmfest.
Speaking from my personal experience, without what I was taught in Mr. Hart's classes (several over the course of my high school career) I probably would have never graduated college.

Mr. Hart, along with his wife Diane, will be one of our food vendors Saturday, September 16th at Farmfest. They will be doing hotdogs for the event. So, be sure to come by and get a hotdog and congratulate Mr. Hart on his many accomplishments as an educator/coach here in Stokes County.
