Just in case you haven't seen this, support Local Barre in their efforts to support one of their own.
Miracles for Madison
Local Barre Family,
As many of you already know, we recently welcomed a new member to our Local Barre family. Just over a month ago, Local Barre staff member, Stephanie Cohen, and her husband, Matt, delivered baby Madison Rose to the world. Unfortunately, during what should have been one of the happiest times of their lives, Stephanie and Matt had learned at the anatomy scan {the twenty week ultrasound when many parents look forward to a gender reveal} that the right side of Madison's heart was not developing properly. Sweet baby girl was immediately diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD), Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS), and Stephanie and Matt prepared themselves {as best they were able} for the various heart surgeries ahead for their daughter. She underwent her first heart surgery on June 29 and has been recovering in the NICU since that time. While we were all hoping to welcome her home, Madison's condition has worsened and she is in need of a heart transplant. She is currently on the waiting list for a donor heart.
We know that, for many of you, Stephanie is a part of your everyday, too, as you pop into the Downtown studio for your daily workout or reach out to our client service team. In a lot of ways, she is part of your family as well. We ask that during this scary, difficult time, you pray with us for Stephanie, Matt, and baby Madison and help us to support one of our own. Although they have insurance, many of Madison's post transplant and other future medications will be uncovered by insurance*. We will be hosting a fundraising class on August 3 at 7 pm on the pier at Maxwell Place Park, and in lieu of the class cost, we ask that you make a donation to Madison. We have chosen to hold this class outside to make it available to as many supporters as possible- please think about attending and inviting friends. Stephanie has let us know that it is the love and support and family, friends, and complete strangers that is carrying through this difficult time. It takes a village and we would love your support!

*All generously donated funds will be used for Madison's present and future medical expenses, commuting expenses, and various living expenses related to Madison's care. Any unused funds will be donated to various charity organizations dedicated to raising awareness for and researching CHD (congenital heart diseases) and also to the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital at New York Presbyterian.
