_______ Christmas Mini session 🌲🌲🌲
‼️When shooting Christmas mini sessions with kids, my number one tip is to incorporate props.
‼️Reason why?……..The kids become so involved with the props, they get distracted, and forget we’re holding a camera, then it’s our chance to capture them on their most candid moments.
‼️However, I understand that not every client is looking for a candid shot and sometimes what they really want is to have a posed shot looking straight at the camera.
‼️But over the years, after making so many mistakes I’ve learned the importance of doing both candid and posed shots, regardless of my client’s preferences.
‼️Besides, I always over shoot and they will have plenty of whatever their preference is to choose from.
‼️At the end of the day, even if the client end up choosing only the posed shots, I’ll have the candid shots to showcase my work.
‼️Or they might even fall in love with the shots they didn’t initially thought they would and surprise me. Who knows?
‼️Hey, don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t consider my clients preference, like I said, I’ve learned with my mistakes. Sometimes people don’t even know what they want until you show it to them.
‼️The way I see it is…….
When years later, they hold that photograph of their kids on a candid moment and be transported right back in time, that feeling is priceless and they will thank me for that!

‼️ When shooting Christmas mini session, we like to go all out and provide ou clientes the full lounge experience including music and champagne.
Even though our clients for the most part aren’t complete strangers, for this kind of sessions, it might be the first time we met them, so it is very important that we find a natural way to break the ice and let them feel right at home.
