What’s new on the farm?

After a well needed break over Christmas we decided to reprioritize and make some new changes for 2024.

As of January 1st I am no longer offering horse riding lessons because I am too busy breaking and training horses and tuning up my personal horse for the new ranch versatility show season.

We have a few new additions to the farm. A pony, 2 palamino projects, and of coarse more chickens and barn cats 😆 an upgraded horse trailer, a 4 wheeler, and a new arena have been lifesavers!

Unfortunately, Our dairy cow has passed her due date with no signs of approaching labor. She will be checked next week to see if she still has a calf or not. Not having her milk this year or a beef cow to raise would be a huge devastation but that is the nature of things sometimes. All our baby chicks from last year are finally laying. My spring garden is all mapped out and we are so excited to get that started again in the coming weeks.

I started a new business, a luxury portable restroom trailer. Perfect for outdoor country weddings, concerts, markets, and parties. I’m really excited to be launching that project this month and getting a step closer to having my own farm event venue.

Our love and respect for agriculture has grown so much this year. As a full time active duty military family, homeschooler mother and home manager with 4 small children, farmer, and involved member of our church community we have limited time and energy to spend on all of our goals and interests but producing healthy quality food and strengthening family relationships both in our family and community are still the direction we are headed.

I will be launching a local 4H horse riding club very soon.

If you are interested in getting involved in any of our projects, want to learn more, coordinate some farm swaps, or have professional services we would be interested in feel free to reach out! 🙏 ❤️

If you are looking for something to do on this wet chilly Saturday consider coming out to my church for this free family event. I heard they will have bounce houses for the kids!

Pistol got a fresh pedicure yesterday and has a new mane saver slinky to help him not rub out his mane. My kids think he is dressed up like a robber for Halloween 😂 🎃

I love hearing people’s reaction switching to raw milk! I taught a backyard milk cow class at a fair last month and sent home a jar of raw milk to a guest who said she suffered her whole life with lactose intolerance. She is converted! ❤️ By a show of likes, who wants to join my next milk cow class?!

As a homeschool mom I’m always looking for ways to bring mentors in to inspire my kids interests. Right now we are looking for a PIANO TEACHER for my 8&6 year old that would be willing to trade horse riding lessons for piano lessons. If you know someone who might be interested, send them my way!

(Pictures of my poor sick kids who have been recuperating from an awful flu this weekend ❤️ Take your vitamins!)

Horse Riding Lessons
3 spots left!

About me: I began riding horses before I could walk as my mother was a jockey and my dad was a race horse trainer. In an effort to keep me away from the interest of becoming a jockey 😂 my parents got me experience in just about every discipline of western riding. My real passions though are reining, cutting, and ranch versatility. I went to Utah State University on a 4H scholarship for my achievements in the horse riding program. I have also held 7 rodeo queen titles and compete for Miss Rodeo Utah in 2011 before getting married to my best friend.

Lessons: These will not just be pony rides. Expect to learn horse science, horse care, horse sense, safety, balance, position, conditioning, ground work, showmanship skills, and more. My goal is create quality riders full of horse knowledge that will enable them to own, show, and enjoy their own horse someday. Students will get to ride at every lesson.

Having your own horse is not required. My quarter horse is what we call “bomb proof.” He is very well trained and experienced and safe for beginners. I do require however they each student wears long jeans, riding boots, a helmet, and signs a liability waiver.

Location: Wichita Falls, Seymour hwy/highway 82 almost to Holliday

Cost: $40 for a half hour session. Come as often as you like. Weekly, monthly, or purchase a gift card for a limited number of lessons.

Who: Ages 3 and up

When: These are my current openings. If none of them work for your schedule we can try to figure out a different time for you. I try to be flexible.
•Thursday 5:45-6:15 every other week
•Friday 5:00 (every other week) 5:30 every week

Welcome to our brand new page!
I was getting so much interest in horse riding lessons I decided to create my own page with all of the information. Let me start by introducing our family….

(Que Bluey theme song 😂)

DAD! Elliott is active duty in the Air Force working as a jet mechanic instructor for 3 years at Sheppard. He keeps everything fixed and running around the farm.

MOM! Lacey is a stay at home mother and homeschooler for our 4 children. She grew up on the back of a horse and is super passionate about teaching others horsemanship skills and backyard milk cow keeping as well as growing and raising food for our family.
