Ah, what an enchanting Friday it was at the Vermont Drinking Water Week Fair! Four hours of relentless enchantment, weaving spells of wonder and illusion. Yes, "magic-ing" – a term I’ve coined, for it is my art. The 4th, 5th, and 6th graders were an absolute delight, a vibrant tapestry of eager minds and wide-eyed curiosity. Children from Twinefield, Fletcher, Northfield, and central Vermont homeschoolers converged, each one a beacon of politeness, engagement, and participation.

It was a magnificent opportunity for both young and old to witness the marvel of close-up magic for the very first time. To spark wonder, to fuel inspiration, and to set their imaginations ablaze. The weather, a perfect symphony of sunshine and breeze, played its part beautifully, as did my youngest daughter, who proved indispensable. Willow, with her nimble fingers and quick thinking, saved the day on more than one occasion when the magic props played hide and seek. She managed the intricate resetting of water-based illusions, kept the music in perfect harmony, and ensured I stayed hydrated – an art form in its own right, in which she is a seasoned virtuoso.

I owe this flourishing and swiftly growing magic entertainment enterprise to the boundless support, inspiration, and gentle nudges from my family. My loyal dog Walter, my fish Fishy-Fishy, the ever-supportive state of Vermont, the serenity found in meditation, a clean diet, and an unyielding instinctual resilience all play their part. The horizon is brimming with promise, with a very busy summer ahead. Gratitude abounds. Thank you.

Our new small local magic entertainment business is in its 8th month and doing well thanks to all the wonderful Vermont communities, businesses, and people.

VT Close-Up Magic LLC will be entertaining 250 kids May 17th in Northfield, Vermont.

The purple tent magic theater will be set up and entertaining using water themed magic.
