Perhaps a Car Picnic would help you eliminate some of the stress of your schedule this season.
For a night out at the theater to see White Christmas, we opted not to go to dinner also. We didn't feel like fighting Friday night crowds, and thought it would make too long of an evening.
We had an hour drive, so we came up with the idea of having a Car Picnic on the way. It also had to be not messy, of course. So we had ham and havarti mini sandwiches on King Hawaiian rolls, grapes, heirloom Orange tomatoes, small wedges of French Brie (from a deli dept) heirloom radishes, cups of potato salad, a small bottle of sparkling juice (from a dollar store), a chocolate bar, and a tiramisu cup from a grocery store bakery. Also in the Santa bucket were Christmas napkins, wet wipes, and a fork. Quick and easy prep, it was made earlier in the day and kept in the refrigerator until time to get in the car. 🎄
