This includes "The Decisive Moment", the iconic book by Henri Cartier Bresson as seen in the foreground. The whole collection is very impressive and not to be missed. Dear Friends, I would like to thank very warmly the 117 backers of this new campaign on Kickstarter for believing in Photography, for believing in what Photographers do. For 7 years, 68 photographers spent roughly one month each with us, in Historic Downtown Wilson, NC, USA, to record the transformation of our City. A very nice book is in the making and 117 friends of this organization made it possible to move forward with the production of this book. I would also like to thank Kickstarter for bringing people together, without the platform, it would be almost impossible to publish such a book. Over the years and different campaigns, I have raised $173,000 through Kickstarter alone. This is a night and a moment to enjoy. Eyes on Main Street will launch an 11th Edition on Saturday May 31, 2025 that will run for 100 days until Sunday, September 7, 2025. The whole exhibition will be dedicated to the residency program (2017-2024) with 100 photographs by 68 photographers from 18 countries who spent each one month with us. If you do not know the story: in July 2014, the idea of Eyes on Main Street is rising. On a nice Summer evening at DPH, Jay Hood approaches me and says I love this idea about a photography festival in Historic Downtown Wilson and I would like to help you. He opens his check book and writes a $1,000 check as our first sponsor, he has total blind faith and the rest is history. The first festival launches on 05.10.15 with Jay in attendance.

Truly mind blowing, my Instagram page has been permanently removed for non-respecting the guidelines of the company, six years of crafted photography work gone. Anyone who has seen my page, knows that I have used Instagram as large contact sheets posting around topics from month to month, nothing controversial, but in the sincere tradition of photo-journalism.
I have been posting about my life work made in large cities as Shanghai or Chicago; my older photographs from the UK or the Pine Ridge reservation, and of course my portraits of celebrities. Last night, I posted 3 "normal" photographs of Istanbul and then suddenly there was a message saying that I had not respected the company guidelines, without ever mentioning what breach of those guidelines was made. I appealed their decision as suggested by IG themselves but the final reply came 4 minutes later (4 minutes on a Sunday night, it looks a computer had fun with my photos), the verdict was direct: forever gone, deleted.
It looks like true censorship is present the same way in the USA, then the lack of any communication or attempt at justification are clearly very worrying signs for all of us who use photography as a medium. Where Architecture Meets Photography, Wilson, NC, USA 2024
The 10th Edition of Eyes on Main Street opens tomorrow. There are many photography festivals in the world. But ours is different in the sense that our large posters have been embraced by the buildings of Historic Downtown Wilson to form an unique artistic bond, the buildings becoming the frames of the photographs. It is a must see experience.
