How do you define strength? How do the people around you define strength? How does our culture define strength? Do you/we cultivate it or repel it? Perhaps one might consider Lion to be strong, or Mountain. And indeed, they represent a type of strength that is both formidable and beautiful. But consider that if everyone who endeavored to cultivate strength in this way, we would end up with a lot of mountains and lions and that type of world would not hold the depth and richness would like to experience. Can we vastly broaden our idea of what it means to be strong?
I believe that strength and power are often used interchangeably. Whether right or wrong, I have a story. Several years ago, in the beginning of my path of expanding self-awareness, I was at a meditation ( a relatively new practice for me) and I was struggling. I was crying and feeling very self-conscious and uneasy and, in general, deeply uncomfortable. A wonderful, caring woman was there to help me navigate through these uneasy feelings and she spoke very gently and encouragingly. Then she asked me “Jenny, are you ready to embrace your power?” and, honestly, I felt apprehensive. So I said in a timid voice, “I don’t know. I’m not sure I’m ready.” Or some such thing. I had a deep distrust of power, in general. Even my own. Suddenly her tone changed dramatically and in a stern and emphatic voice she said, “Jenny! That is not an acceptable answer!” and the shock of that shift propelled us both into a magnificent bout of laughter that mercifully lifted the dismal cloud that had enveloped me. Later, while recounting this experience with others in the group, and getting to the highlight of the laughter, she shared that THAT is my power, the laughter! In that moment I was able to fully, eagerly embrace my power, or at least a piece of it. And it reshaped my understanding of power and strength.
So, could we expand what we consider to be strong, in the world and in ourselves? In this light, reflect on the interconnectedness of the forest and how that makes that ecosystem strong. The seed that breaks through the soil in the spring. The worms that irrigate our soil or the bee that pollenates the flower. And in ourselves, what gifts of strength can we cultivate? Open yourself to the inquiry and the response may pleasantly surprise you.
Now, I invite you to join me for a vibrational healing. Allow the Crystal Bowls to soothe you into a peaceful place the gong to wash away the stress and tension of this time. Feel restored and full of gratitude. Each of these sound healings is created with the intention for healing in this time of uncertainty. There is an opening guided meditation to address some aspect of support for you. Then each of the seven chakra bowls will be played one at a time to give your system a ‘homeopathic’ dose of the vibration to attune to. You may benefit from using this time to balance each chakra. Should you lose count of which chakra we are on, I tap the bowl, indicating the number of the chakra, before playing. I will tap the bowl once for Root, twice for Sacral and so on. Then I’ll use the bowls and my voice to encourage vibrational balance and release from within you. After this, I’ll play the beautiful Tibetan gong to soothe away residual energies. Use the time during the sound healing to breathe deeply and with intention, ask questions and listen within for the answers. Tune in to your inner world and cultivate peace. The sound healing will end with the angelic Koshi chimes.
It is recommended that you listen with headphones to get the optimal binaural effect. The reason I don’t do live stream of my sound healings is because the microphone I use cannot stream live. It can only record. And it records such phenomenal detail.
For those of you who have experienced the healing power of sound to heal the body, you know how effective and relaxing they can be. For those of you who haven’t experienced it yet, give it a try! This is a great opportunity to explore this amazing modality. Please share this with any friends and family you feel would benefit from this therapy.
I would love to hear what you think or how the sound healings have affected you. Sharing your story can help others to find their way to healing. If you want to leave a review, you can go to my website under Testimonials or email me at [email protected]
