Well the weekend is almost here. If you don't have any plans come to Vermillion on Saturday for the BBQ competition. Smoke'em Out BBQ will be there with 14 other teams. $10.00 gets you a people's choice vote and you can try all the teams. The people's choice meat is pork loins. This should be a fun one I have never done pork loin foe a competition. We serve the public from 3:30-4:40. The fair grounds in vermillion are across from the Ford dealership. Hopefully I will see some familiar faces this weekend.

We have a few more changes for the year. We will be cutting this year's competitions down due to helping out a family member. We will be keeping competitions close to home. This is the schedule now. If anyone has leads on competitions that allow us to be home the same night please send them my way.

Who is ready for summer? I would like to believe that I am, but it will be another busy summer. Family vacation, work, competitions and finding time to smoke meat for anyone that would like to buy some.

The tentative competition schedule for Smoke'em Out BBQ is as follows.
June 11 in Yankton
July 2 in Balaton MN
July 9 in Salem
July 30 in Winner
August 6 in Britton
September 3 in Tracy MN
September 10 in Ethan
And September 24 in Crofton NE

If anyone knows of any other competitions please let me know. There are 3 competitions that I will not miss for the summer. If you have time and want to come support me and alot of other great teams I would recommend going to Britton (yes I understand it's a long drive for some) the other is Ethan. The proceeds from you purchasing your rib tickets go to 2 great places.

We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year coming up. Time flies and before we all know it, May will be here. If you or someone you know has a child that will be graduating this coming May have a talk with them. See what they want for food. If you want to be different and not have the normal taco bar/ sloppy joe and chips. Reach out to us and see what we can provide for you and your graduate on their special day.

With competition season over Smoke'em Out BBQ will be firing up the smoker Saturday September 24th for one last time before it goes into storage. We are planning on doing pork butts for pulled pork. They will be sold shredded by the pound and vacuum sealed. $10.00 per pound. If you would like some please get ahold of Janelle Koster or myself with how much you would like. If you have a request feel free to ask and we will make a decision if we can do it. Thank you to everyone that has supported us through the summer. We will hopefully be doing a few more competitions and different events next summer.

Getting the belly of the beast cleaned out. Smoke'em Out BBQ has heir last competition of the year tomorrow. We will be over in Ethan, SD with alot of other great teams. Please if you can come out and show us your support as well as support for a great organization Helping with Horsepower as well as all of the men and women past, present and future that have, are and are willing to fight for this country. We serve the public at 5:30 in Ethan on Main Street. Be there early ribs will go fast. $2 per rib or 7 for $10 if you spend $10 you will get a token to vote for your favorite. It has been a great summer for us. We have met alot of great teams and people. We are happy for the friendships we have started and can't wait to see where they go.

Today was a good day for us. Alot of hard work has paid off with 2 first places. We will keep working hard and hope to do well next weekend in Britton SD.

I know everyone has summer plans and we are all busy. But Smoke'em Out BBQ will be doing 4 more competitions for sure if you have never tried my cooking. Saturday July 10th we will be in Salem, Saturday July 31st in Winner, August 7th in Britton and Saturday September 11th in Ethan. Come out and show your support for all the teams that will be competing in the competitions.

Big thanks to everyone that came out to Yankton Ribfest. We had fun got great feed back from the public and came home with a first place in people's choice. Thank you to everyone who tried our ribs.
