Did you know that Monks debate each other?

At the The Gaden Shartse Monastery, we debate for six hours a day, six days a week.

No notes. No books. Only memory, comprehension, presence, and truth.
Every word studied in Buddhist philosophy must return to the courtyard and be tested through living dialogue.

Each gesture is sacred.

The raised right hand… the sword of wisdom.
The open left palm… all sentient beings in samsara.
The stamp of the foot… closing the door to death.

All of it begins with one seed: DHI – the seed of wisdom.
