We are on 30 gorgeous acres off of Hwy 54- just 10 minutes from Graham, Mebane and Saxapahaw and 30 minutes from Chapel Hill, Greensboro and Durham. Cranmore Meadows is a 30-acre nature preserve and intentional tiny house RV community in Haw River, NC, which currently features 13 full-time residential tiny home lots. Each tiny house RV rental spot offers:
✔️30A and 50A electrical hook-ups
✔️Access to private broadband internet connection
✔️Fresh water connection
✔️Full sewer connection
✔️Trash & recycling collection
✔️Permanent residential address with mailbox
✔️Road maintenance
✔️Community clubhouse with guest room & catering kitchen
✔️Community garden and land access
✔️A wonderful, supportive community
Please note! The maximum home size we can fit is 10’ × 36’. Also, the tiny homes must be on trailer foundations with wheels, meaning we are unable to accommodate park model or shipping container homes. We are also prioritizing folks who already have a tiny home and are ready to move sooner than later.

How many people can you fit in a tiny house? ⁉️
A whole community if you’re lucky! When you have intentional neighbors like we do at Cranmore Meadows, it’s easy to get cozy for a photo 😝🤗 Our monthly potlucks turned into progressive dinners in each of the pocket neighborhoods the last two go-arounds! How fun and intimate to get to see each neighbor’s tiny abode. So much creativity, thoughtfulness, and warmth packed into each tiny space. I know we are biased, but we love our community and each resident who makes it so unique! ❤️🏡

*Big sigh of relief* 😮‍💨 We finished phase two of our development! And welcomed 10 new residents and 6 new tiny homes back in December and January. It was a bit touch and go for a while with finalizing permitting from the county, bringing a new tiny human home from NICU, and going through a waitlist of 400 emails! But alas, we have arrived to a community filled with the very best neighbors anyone could ask for! How lucky are we?! 🥰 Photo 1- view looking up from Haw Creek at the new houses on Milky Way. We welcomed a tiny human into our lives and our community on October 17th, Sylvan Santo Meadows (Meadows after Cranmore Meadows). We are also proud to share that our other baby, Cranmore Meadows, is near completion! We are wrapping up Phase 2 of our tiny home community with 6 new THOW pads! Our residents are so talented! Come support their plant and pottery sale this weekend from 9 am - 5 pm Saturday and Sunday! They make great Mother’s Day Gifts! 🌻🪴We also have a monthly tour this Sunday at 2 pm (always the first Sunday of every month at 2 pm). Hope to see you there! 🏃🏽‍♀️💨

“What do we do when our hearts hurt?” asked the boy. “We wrap them with friendship, shared tears, and time, till they wake hopeful and happy again.” 💔
One of the hardest and most sacred moments happened a few weekends ago when our community came together to put Shadow, aka the “Mayor of Cranmore Meadows” down in our back meadow. Shadow aptly earned the Mayor title when she moved in and took charge of checking in on every neighbor in the community on a daily basis, even when her arthritic body resisted. She was also the first to let you know when things just weren’t right with her distinctive bark and kept the equilibrium of community because of it. 🐾
The most important lesson you showed us, however, was how to come together and share in the grief. How to show up for each other in tough times. How to lessen the sadness by holding hands and wiping shared tears. And I believe we are all stronger for that. Rest in peace sweet girl. 💕🦴

We’ve had some growing pains as we learn what community means to us over the last 16 months. But those lessons have only drawn us closer together and helped us define what we vision to be. Last night we came together for our second annual Brigid’s Day to celebrate poetry, fire, water, fertility and the coming of spring. This cyclical gathering helps connect us to the land and each other and reminds us of the spirit of our community. Amy put it nicely in her shared poem…

“Sometimes things don’t fall your way!” he says. My husband with the understatement of the year! 😩😬 It’s easy to only post the wins on social, but let’s be real, farming is hard, starting a community or any business is hard, life is hard. The close of 2022 and start of 2023 has been challenging for Nathan and me. We lost a dear friend unexpectedly, we ran out of financing for our expansion, and we’ve had growing pains navigating relationship building and conflict management in our community and as married business partners. We often feel stretched to our limits, daily decision fatigue and an overall lack of direction. Sometimes things don’t fall into place as you expect they should and we are realizing that’s ok. Life is messy, we cry, we learn, we grow, we try. Like this land, community and business, we are a work in progress. Happy New Year Y’all! 🌳

3 words to describe your tiny: Safe, familiar, sunny

Why did you go tiny: I’ve dreamed of tiny living, in some form or another, since I was fourteen years old. During the pandemic, I became more interested in the idea of van life, but knew that a tiny house on wheels would be better for our family and current jobs. When our apartment lease was ending, I reached out to Callie and Nathan because I had a gut feeling that things would work out.

Excited to join Cranmore because: Outside of my family, I’ve never felt like I belonged to a community in North Carolina. The feelings of isolation only heightened during the pandemic, and I was at a point of desperation for community and connection. Being part of the community here is a daily reminder of the goodness that is still incredibly present in the world. When I think of Cranmore Meadows and the community members that reside, I think of the quote, “When you are more fortunate than others, build a longer table not a higher fence”. I am endlessly grateful that room at the table has been made for us.

What do you bring to the community: We’ve only been here for a few months, and with graduation, a wedding, moving to Emily’s house, and starting a new job, it’s easy to feel like I haven’t brought much to the community. But I hope that as the months go on, everyone knows that they will always have a place in our home for coffee, a warm meal, or a hug in times of need. I’m really excited to be in a larger tiny house with a patio because of the hosting capabilities!

Nathan (co-owner at Cranmore) is on the board of a nonprofit folk school in Franklinville, NC that has all sorts of cool classes this spring and summer focused around homesteading. ⛺️This Saturday, he is teaching a course called: All About Living Tiny: Ways to Reduce Our Environmental & Financial Footprings by Successfully Living Smaller. 🏡 There will also be a course on Growing & Harvesting Garden Planted and Wild Herbs for Food, Seasoning, Health, Well-being, and Vitality 🌱 and another on Mastering the Hatchet, the Knife, and the Folding Saw!🪓

Happy Trail Day Success! Our community members successfully built 1/2 mile of trails at Cranmore Meadows this past weekend! All hands were on deck including friendly neighbors who heard us chain sawing behind their houses and came out to lend a helping hand AND the VIP of Trails, Nathan’s uncle, Vincent Huening, who flew in from St. Louis to lead the efforts! We thank you all and hope to see you on the trail… named by uncle Vince: Happy Tails (leading contender) for all the furry friends out here 🐾🐾🐾
