Don'ts:

1. Don't overmix the cake batter, as it can lead to a tough and dense cake.

2. Don't open the oven door frequently while the cake is baking, as it can cause the cake to collapse.

3. Don't substitute ingredients unless you're experienced with ingredient substitutions in baking recipes.

4. Don't forget to scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl to ensure even mixing.

5. Don't overfill the cake pans, as the batter may overflow and cause a mess in the oven.

6. Don't rush the cooling process. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

7. Don't skip the step of greasing and flouring the cake pans or lining them with parchment paper, as this can lead to the cake sticking to the pan.

8. Don't frost a warm cake. Wait until the cake has completely cooled to prevent the frosting from melting.

9. Don't store a frosted cake in the refrigerator unless the frosting specifically requires it. Cold air can dry out the cake.

10. Don't overbake the cake. Keep a close eye on it during the final minutes of baking, as overbaking can result in a dry and crumbly cake.

Following these 10 cake baking don'ts will help you avoid common mistakes and achieve a successful cake baking experience.

NB: If you observe all 10 Dos and Don'ts and your cake still doesn't come out as desired, then the problem is the recipe. Get a true and tested recipe.

Can Flour Go Bad?
- Yes, flour can go bad, the easiest way to tell if flour is spoiled is by smelling it. If your flour has a stale, sour, or musty odor, it's time to toss it. Another tell-tale sign is if your flour has moldy chunks or takes on a different color. If that's the case, it's time to buy a new bag.
How do we store flour so it doesn't go bad ?
Most of us don't likely get jobs always and though it best to buy in bulk if you want to make profit.
- Below is few tips on how to preserve your flour
1. Storing flour in airtight plasticware or a glass mason jar will keep it fresh for up to 10 months and keep pests like flour bugs at bay. If you have the tools to vacuum seal your flour, it can last for up to two years. Though there many types of flours some tends to have expiring date (such as whole wheat flour, almond flour, and others) tend to expire faster than big-brand all-purpose flours
2. You can also stor your flours in fridge
Most varieties of flour will last for up to a year in the refrigerator if stored properly. It's a good idea to use an airtight container and label it with the date you originally stored it, so you can keep track.
You'll also want to make sure to store your flour in the fridge away from any items that could give off moisture, as the moisture can affect the quality of the flour and cause it to clump.

3. Also I store it in air tight container using putting amount of bay leaves inside.

Also remember to seive your flour multiple times before use because some of these flours we buy in the market already have dirt in it and some insects especially when it has stayed too long with the seller.

Mistake you should avoid while baking
1. Mismeasuring ur flour
Do u know that 1 cup of flour, depending on the kind of flour u use should be 120g, but what happened when u just scoop up the flour and level it,then place it on ur measuring scale,it will give u 150g. That mean 30g of additional flour in there.
But if you don't have measuring scale and making use of measuring cup. Then do this
You can fluff and sprinkle the flour in the measuring cup.u want to preserve all the pocket of air in between those little granules of flour. Then level it and measure on measuring scale,it will give u 121g. That is additional 1g. So one Extra don't matter.

Scooping of flour will make ur cake dry, bready and denser and not going to be delicious.
So try and get measuring scale. It will make ur cake accurate and delicious. Thanks u.
I decided to pour out what I learn.
If u are following let me know. I will give you more knowledge. Thanks you 😘😘😘😘

Butter vs Margarine

The difference between butter and margarine.

The Difference Between Butter and Margarine
While used for many of the same purposes, butter and margarine are two very different products. The primary factor that sets them apart is what they’re made from, and thus the types of fats they contain.

What Is Butter?

Butter is the dairy product made from churning milk or cream. The churning process separates the butterfat (the solids) from the buttermilk (the liquid). The butter we most often buy is made from cow’s milk, although other varieties — made from the milk of sheep, goat, yak, or buffalo — are also available. While typically pale yellow in color, butter can range from white to deep yellow, depending on the animal’s diet. And since, at its core, butter is made from one ingredient, it can be made at home.

The biggest factor that sets different brands of butter apart is the fat content, which ultimately has an effect on the butter’s taste and texture. All commercially sold butter must be at least 80 percent fat. As butter is an animal fat, it contains cholesterol and is higher in saturated fat than margarine.

What Is Margarine?

Margarine is a non-dairy product created as a substitute for butter. While originally made from animal fat in the 1800s, today the primary ingredients include vegetable oil, water, salt, emulsifiers, and some also include milk. Margarine can be found in both sticks and tubs.

It’s important to know that not all margarine is created equal. There are variations from brand to brand, so it’s important to read the label. Unlike butter, margarine isn’t something that can be made at home.

Like butter, regular margarine must also have a minimum fat content of 80 percent by law. Anything less is considered a “spread.” The margarine and spreads found in the dairy aisle can range from 10 to 90 percent fat. Depending on the fat content, the levels of vegetable oil and water will vary, with those containing a lower fat content having a higher percentage of water.

Since margarine’s primary component is vegetable oil, it lacks the cholesterol and saturated fat found in butter, and has a higher percentage of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. It may, however, contain trans fat — although, many brands have reduced or totally eliminated this from the ingredient lineup, using palm oil and palm kernel oil in its place.

Which Is Better? Butter or Margine?

If you’ve tasted each of these spreads, then you know just how vastly different they are. But If am to say Good-quality butter tastes amazing — there’s just no way around it than Margerine in all baked products.

The type of fat found in butter and margarine is a defining factor in what sets them apart. While butter is derived from animal fat, margarine is made with vegetable oil. This difference has an impact on taste, texture, and nutrition.

As far as substituting one for the other, it’s best to go by the recipe, especially when it comes to baking. Those margarines that have a lower fat content contain more water, which can lead to tougher baked goods.

As far as which one is better, your best bet is to just use whichever one you choose in moderation.

Hope this will answer some questions by upcoming bakers in the house.

BEGINNERS' BUSINESS TIPS

1. Do not invest as a beginner in second-hand equipment. Find out the reason why the previous owner wants to see it. It could be for two reasons :
I. It may be outdated
II. It may have been depreciated.
Buying such equipment no matter how cheap may be much liability to you and that may hamper growth.

2. Get a space (office or workshop) at an accessible area of the city or town where you are based. Otherwise, some people may be discouraged from visiting you because of the inaccessibility of your location either for security reasons or bad road.

3. Be careful with costing. Beginners tend to go too low with pricing to attract patronage. At the long run it may be difficult for you to stabilize price unless you understand very well the science of costing.

Do not go too low or too high in pricing. Do your market survey and find out what the product or service you render stands at in your local market. When you go too low, the results are:
I. You may incur some losses.
II. Some people may not value your product or services at all.
III. You will be unable to upgrade your equipment and skill as you require money to attend trainings and buy new machines.
IV. Any future attempt to Step-up price may be met with resentment from your customers.

On the other hand, high prices could be unhealthy to your business especially at the beginning stage. Moderation should be the word.

4. Stick to quality : Be consistent in delivering the best of your product or services. Businesses thrive on trust. Customers trust you to deliver a particular service or product that is why they entrusted their hard-earned money into your hands. Satisfying them gives you more referrals. Every 1 satisfied customer = 10.

5. Be careful in hiring friends and family as employee. Do not hire anyone you will find difficult to fire if the need arises. Ensure you work with people who have the best interest of your business at heart. Reward diligence and praise faithfulness.

Step out today. Start doing something.

Secret of fluffy cake

Making a cake is not a difficult process, but complications can arise whether you are using a premixed product or baking the cake from scratch. By altering the ingredients, however, you can eliminate a number of potential pitfalls that lead to a cake being dry and crumbly when it comes out of the oven. In some cases, making substitutions or adding one additional element is all you need to make an extremely moist and fluffy cake. Please note that it is possible for a cake to by fluffy and not moist. It is thus beneficial for you to know exactly what you want to achieve in order for the rules below to guide you.

Some types of cakes like red velvet and carrot cakes are naturally moist, and in fact cakes with high liquid proportions always turn out moist. Sponge cakes are naturally fluffy, while vanilla cakes are usually not as moist and fluffy. Knowing what to expect from a particular type of cake and having good knowledge of the characteristics of various types of cakes is an asset that will help you decide on the type of cake that will fit your objective.

If you are using the creaming method of mixing the butter and sugar first, be sure to add as much air into the mixture as possible. When air is trapped in your batter it will help make your cake light and fluffy, however, do not overdo it.

Over-mixing after the flour has been added will make the cake dense and hard. Always use the technique of adding flour and egg mixture in alternating additions (flour, egg mixture, flour, egg mixture, flour). This will guarantee that you do not over mix the batter.

Separate the white from the yolk of one egg included in the recipe. Discard the white and add only the yolk to the batter. This step is necessary for only one egg, regardless of how many are used in the recipe. Egg whites are drying agents and too many will reduce the moisture content of the batter. To achieve extra fluffy cakes, especially when making vanilla cakes, separate the egg whites from the egg yolk, make the batter with the egg yolks, beat the egg whites separately and fold it into the batter in the end.

How to avoid over baking
1. Try dividing your batter into 2 baking pans and baking them in those separate pans instead of baking all the batter in one deep baking pan. The more quantity of batter poured in a pan, the longer you will need to bake the cake, and the more chances the cake will dry out during baking.
2. be attentive while your cake is in the oven. Over baking a cake is sure to make it dry. Always bring out your cake from the oven as soon as your cake is baked. This is ascertained as soon as a tester inserted in the middle comes out clean. Always note the recommended baking time for the recipe you are using and start checking few minutes earlier.
3. If your cake is taking too long to bake, cover the top of the cake with parchment paper. This will not only prevent the cake from browning too much but will also prevent it from drying out.

Storing and Frosting your cake
1. Make sure your cakes are completely cool before storing them in a fridge. Seal them properly with foil before putting them in the fridge. When cakes are exposed over time, they gradually dry out. Sealing helps to keep moisture inside the cake.
2. Adding syrup (e.g., sugar syrup) is a great way of adding
