Real Scenario 1: Hindi naging maayos ang ilang facets ng wedding kasi kahit nagbigay ng suggestions ang coordinator regarding possible suppliers, nag decide ang couple not to consider the suggestions. Ok yan if yung nakuha mag perform according to expectations. Pero pag hindi maayos even if the coordinator tried to help na, hindi na yan fault ng coordinator.

Real scenario 2: Nagsabi ang coordinator regarding the need for preps and crew meals and nagbigay ng maayos na suggestions pero...

a) nag decide ang couple sa iba kumuha or magpaluto sa kakilala tapos late or di palatable ang food
‍‍
b) nag decide ang couple na ok to order for suppliers kasi nasa contract pero ang ento & family sa preps, kanya kanyang kain na lang

Hindi na yan fault ng coordinator.
‍‍
Real scenario 3: Nag suggest na ang coordinator na kailangan ng actual food for cocktail time, pero ang couple nag decide na nuts and chips lang ang to be served kahit mahaba ang post nup shoot. Then, kahit pinuputol na ng coord yung pictorial, ayaw pumayag ng couple. So may guests na nagalit dahil gutom na and ang tagal ng pictorial. Fault pa ba ng coordinator? Hindi na.

So couples, if you hired efficient coordinators, wag niyong sayangin yung level of experience nila by giving the 👎 sa mga suggestions nila without carefully considering them first. If nag research kayo before hiring your coordinator, then trust the coordianator to have your best interests in mind. Walang maayos na coordinator na magsusuggest ng mga bagay na makakasira sa wedding experience ng guests at ng couple.

SANA PALA KUMUHA KAMI NG COORDINATOR 😰

There's this one Bride na nagmessage sa akin...

And one of her biggest wedding regrets is not hiring an OTD Coordinator nung wedding day nila.

But before anything else, kung bago ka pa lang na nagpa-plano ng wedding, you might be wondering kung…

ANO BA YUNG OTD COORDINATOR AT KUNG NEED MO BA TALAGA NITO?!?

OTD Coordinator means On the Day Coordinator. Ang role or trabaho nila happens on the day of the wedding.

Sila yung nag-e-execute ng wedding plans ng couple, and they monitor the timeline and all the other suppliers on the day of the wedding to make sure na nangyayari lahat as planned.

Sila yung nag-o-oversee ng Wedding habang busy tayo sa pictorials as a Bride.

If you have on the day deliveries, sila rin ang tatanggap nito, para di na tayo maabala.

And they make sure everything is all-set sa church and reception venue before the ceremony even start.

Usually around 10-30k ang bayad sa kanila (depende kasi yan sa inclusions and kung ilan sila sa team nila).

I know marami sa atin ang tingin sa coordinators ay dagdag gastos lang.

Isa na ako dun.

Honestly, nung nagstart kaming magplano ng wedding, coordinator yung last supplier na binook namin kasi nagdadalawang isip pa ‘ko na kumuha nito.

I was so confident na kaya namin mairaos yung wedding day na kami lang.

Naisip rin namin na dagdag gastos lang ito.

Akala ko minor lang ang role nila sa wedding, parang magbabayad ka pa ng 10-30k just for that?

But I was wrong...

After kong maikasal, I realized that coordinators can actually make or break your wedding.

Sila yung parang fairy godmother mo kasi kayang kaya nila kayong tulungan na maging smooth ang buong wedding flow ninyo, i-execute ang wedding plans na ginawa mo, and anticipate possible concerns earlier than you can imagine.

Kasi memorize na nila yan, palagi na silang nasa kasalan.

So, I hope pag-ipunan natin ang professional OTD Coordinators kasi they are usually underrated but worth it!

Sana this post would serve as a reminder para maiwasan ang any wedding regrets.

Like the bride who messaged me, happy naman siya na ikinasal siya…

Pero hindi niya masyadong na-enjoy ang mismong wedding day.

Kalungkot, ‘no?

And I don’t want that to happen again to any bride…

Thanks to Ms. Jessa, for still entrusting our craft for the Special Day of her Baby Rylee Jade.

Ms. Jessa was our Beautiful Bride wayback April of 2022. Now, she's living in Cebu City.... she contacted me last september of this year (2023) that she'll be going home and have the Dedication and 1st Birthday Celebration of her daugther here in Davao.

We planned and organized everything via online. She selected suppliers as well in which she would be glad enough to work with soon. Upon arriving here in Davao on the 2nd week of December, we meet some of the suppliers and she even discussed what she wanted to happen on the day.

Glad enough we were able to work in a smooth sailing manner with the suppliers and even exceeded the expectations of Ms. Jessa.

Again, Thank you to all the suppliers, family and friends of Ms. Jessa who made the event into timeless memory....

Some brides (and grooms) get stuck in the looking for pegs and suppliers phase of wedding preps. Wag hanggang doon lang please. Decisions need to be made asap. Baka you inquired, asked questions, tapos pag ready ka na mag decide weeks after booked na rin sila.

Remember: contentment is key. Stop thinking that if you book now you will miss out on someone better. Or if you decide on a peg now, you will miss out on something Pinterest will have next month.

If you researched naman and you like the work of the person or you feel the peg communicates your vision, go for it na. And stop looking for more pegs to brood over. Move on to the next thing you need.

Mabilis lang ang oras. Mayamaya one day to go na lang, di ka pa rin tapos mag ayos ng turnovers at guest list.

What caused you to have wedding regrets?

Personally, i had regrets over one supplier, failing to really do rsvp, and failing to review the seat plan after all the revisions.

As an emcee, to help couples avoid regrets over their parents, i make sure that I discuss the traditions related to the parents very well. I also give other tips so they can enjoy the day -- till the end of the reception :)
