OW4 Floid - Yayomia
For the next release on Omen Wapta, Delft based producer and digital sound artist Floid builds trip-like atmospheric sound pieces. Letting go of specific genres or ideas, the artist has a skilled and intuition based approach to electric music production. While not building towards a peak, he creates endless rhythms and active narratives elevating each other by surprising intervals.
OW4 'Yayomia' is part of a new digital-only series on the label, seeking to discover different territories of sound. In this five-track EP, Floid translates his fascination for dancing crowds, into mind-leading sonic spaces to slowly get lost in. Here, the producer takes constancy, repetition and glitchy influences to an own interpretation of hypnotic deep techno. The outcome is a series trippy danceable soundscapes, to fall into trance with.

They deliver a blurred and mystical landscape that seamlessly leads the mind down labyrinthine tunnels of his own imagination. Tactile feelings are taking the lead.

OW3 Loek Frey - Decipher
For Omen Wapta’s third release, Loek Frey explores the far reaches of mechanic and organic spaciousness. His first album ‘Decipher’ is melting together metallic and biological influences. Loek states that the artistic freedom he had during the creative process was a liberating experience: it allowed him to take risks and translate his subconscious into music. Letting go of direction, the irregular complex rhythms still provide a clear and minimalistic approach to sound design.
OW3 contains eleven electronic scapes, some more than others are intensified by layers of clashing atmospheres. Remaining fresh and breathable, elements from different sources coexist in another dimension. The result is a naturally arising composition of sound, with a sense of progression.

OW2 Yuki Matsumura - An
For Omen Wapta’s second release, Japanese producer Yuki Matsumura turns in four tracks of glitchy, experimental techno on his new EP, An. Born and raised in Kochi, Yuki began exploring PC and software production in 2007. His labyrinthine sound design is created through heavy processing and audio editing, resulting in an abstract and textural take on techno with a distinctive rhythmic edge.
Yuki released his debut album Without a Break via Moph Records in 2015, followed by 2016’s Edge for Artificial Domain, both of which demonstrated his balance of bass-heavy breaks and more introspective sounds. On his An EP, Yuki continues to develop his avant-glitch approach, pursuing an even more sparse and insular sound across its four tracks.

OW1 JEMAPUR - Mode Cleaner
For Omen Wapta’s inaugural release, Japanese musician/sound designer/coder/producer JEMAPUR explores the far reaches of abstract experimental techno on his album Mode
Cleaner. Pulling from music that the Nagano-based artist made between 2016 and 2020, the album demonstrates JEMAPUR’s distinctive use of glitch, microsampling, live coding, and
granular synthesis techniques. As the producer explains, Mode Cleaner was made at a time when his subconscious was being drawn towards subjects like physics, geometry, murals,
ancient civilisations, the logic of nature, and the observation of the universe.
Intricate yet expressive, cerebral yet sensory, melancholic yet vivid, the Mode Cleaner album comes a decade-plus into JEMAPUR’s career of innovative electronic music. In 2019, he was invited to become an artist-in-residence at Amsterdam’s De School, where he was introduced to Omen Wapta’s Woody92.
