We are looking for a reliable and hands-on General Maintenance Person to join our friendly team maintaining a stunning Georgian manor house and tenanted properties nestled in the heart of the Dorset countryside.
This is a varied role that includes a wide range of tasks, from minor repairs and upkeep to helping keep the estate and buildings in excellent condition.

Maintenance Weekend at Gaunts House
Friday 16th May from 4.30pm until Sunday 18th May 3pm.

A call out to our wider community for volunteers who would like to come and lend their hand in upkeeping this beautiful place.
We will be lifting and shifting, decorating and scrubbing, beautifying and working with wood. All skills needed!
We invite you to come and stay for two nights in the house or pop in for few hours on Saturday. Work with us, eat with us, dance with us. Join the beautiful community for couple of days, get to know us or reunite with us.. and who knows, you may want to stay for longer!
There is an evening entertainment on Friday and Saturday, which you are welcome to join.

A call for a Gardener...
Gaunts House is looking for a second Gardener-Cum-grounds person to help to manage our large garden and grounds, our walled vegetable garden, and to help maintain lawns and flower beds around the house.
Gaunts House runs and hosts residential retreats and courses encouraging spiritual growth, well-being, and fulfilment. We are working towards becoming a centre for teaching and sharing sustainable living skills and, in the future, will be running courses, including organic gardening, foraging, herbal medicine and preserving.
We are seeking an organic vegetable gardener to help with planning our large walled garden to provide food for our kitchen. Your job would be to manage the walled garden, poly tunnel and greenhouse and to maintain the lawns and flower beds near the house.
Alongside gardening experience, you will need to have good social skills, be willing to share knowledge and be happy to work alongside others.
The ability and qualifications to use and maintain large garden machinery and equipment would be desirable, if not essential.
Establishing a good working relationship with our kitchen staff is especially important as we are working towards self-sufficiency and supplying the kitchen all year round.

We are starting A SERIES OF NATURAL COSMETICS AND HAIR CARE making workshops run by our wonderful herbalist Terry!
The first one is taking place on Saturday 5th April.
Arrive from 9:30am for tea, coffee and biscuits and workshop commences at 10:00am.

1. Making Natural Skin Care Workshop
The Workshop will be held in Gaunts House Herbal Apothecary, accommodating a maximum of 6 people.
In this workshop you will learn the basics of making highly effective natural, organic, cosmetic creams and balms that are safe and beneficial when used on the skin.
It will be a hands-on experience in making natural, organic skin care products. A full set of notes will complement the Workshop, explaining the raw materials used and giving the knowledge to design and produce natural handmade skincare products with natural ingredients.
Everything made, 2 Creams, 1 Body Butter and 2 or 3 Lip Balms can be kept.
No previous knowledge, training or experience is needed to attend this course as it starts from the very beginning.
The course will be facilitated by a fully qualified Medical Herbalist with 24 years experience who also has a diploma in Natural Organic Skincare.
The Workshop will be on Saturday 5th April, 2025. Arrive from 9:30am for tea, coffee and biscuits.
Course commences at 10:00am and finishes around 15:00 with a break for a lunch.
Cost which include all ingredients as well as 2 cosmetic creams, (a moisturiser and an anti-ageing cream), 1 body butter and 2 or 3 lip balms £45.00.

On every 3rd Tuesday of the month we welcome Sound Therapy with Guided Meditation by Vikki and Nic.
18th March at 7pm.

Join Nic Wood and Vikki Seymour for a deep immersive experience of sound therapy with guided meditation.
A unique evening blending the spoken word within the soundscape of Himalayan bowls, gongs, crystal bowls and so much more.

All you need to do is bring something comfy to lie on, pillows and a blanket so you can deeply relax into the space.
Vikki and Nic, qualified practitioners, move around the room allowing the words and instruments to weave together so your body and mind are treated to a complete switch off from the outside world.
Some people find themselves relaxing so deeply they go through a conscious healing experience while others simply allow the sounds and words to wash over them without any care in the world.

Come and join us for an hour of your own self-care, no experience is necessary.
