Good morning,
I will be attending Dwr y Felin Orchestral Centre tonight to collect the 4 forms and deposits for the Lake Garda, Italy tour.
The first payment of £125 is due on the 1st February but I can collect those tonight also if you wish.

Would you like to sing a new carol this Christmas?
To help raise funds and awareness of the ‘Everyone Deserves a Christmas’ Hamper Charity campaign Mal Pope (Fireman Sam) & Bronwen Lewis (Welsh language Tik Tok star) have recorded a new version of ‘Away in a Manger’ in English and Welsh.
The charity have provided a resources page where you can download the full orchestral backing track as an mp3 together with the piano score, string scores and lyrics.

The site also has the original official videos and lyric videos, in English and in Welsh to help your school learn their parts.
The charity would love as many schools to learn the carol, film themselves and post online to help raise as much money as possible to provide as many hampers as we can.
Christmas is a busy time but both Mal and Bronwen have said, depending on diary commitments, they will try to visit some of the schools that take up the challenge.

Wednesday’s Brass Band Centre at YGG Pontardawe is open as normal tonight (Wednesday 28th September) and transport is provided.

Thursdays Orchestral Centre will be closed this week (Thursday 29th September) as the school is unavailable. Back to normal next week.

Music Centres will run as normal this week. Just to confirm, last Thursday night’s Port Talbot bus issue has been resolved and will definitely be running this week. Apologies from the bus company.

Music Centres will re-start next week with the Brass Band Centre at YGG Pontardawe on Wednesday 14th September and the Orchestral Centre at Dwr y Felin Comprehensive School on Thursday 15th September.
Transport is provided as normal.

Good morning all.

A few rules for Dwr y Felin Orchestral Centre tonight from 5:30pm to 7:30pm

If using the transport provided please ensure you wear face coverings for the whole journey. Bus will leave Cwmtawe School Bus Bay at 5pm.

Face coverings should also be worn to enter and leave the building but can be removed once seated. Please use the hand sanitiser provided.

We will provide ‘puppy pads’ for wind and brass instruments to collect instrument moisture. As this is not exactly eco friendly, it would be helpful if you could you bring a small towel.

You will be expected to carry your own chair and stand.

The tuck shop remains closed for now so please provide your own refreshments.

As it's a two hour rehearsal there will be a comfort break but we advise against social mixing.

We can't wait to see you tonight and make some music!

Hi everyone and welcome back to a new term.
The Brass and Orchestral Music Centres will re-start on Wednesday 15th September & Thursday 16th September.

Due to the ongoing building work at YGG Pontardawe we will start with the County Youth Brass Band only on the 15th with transport provided and the Training Band only on the 22nd September.

On the 16th September at Dwr y Felin we are aiming to start all ensembles and transport will be provided from Cwmtawe to Dwr y Felin.
