Chris and I would like to say thank you to everyone who played a part helping the Silverdale Arts Festival to happen. Many thanks to the artists and participants, and to the wonderful supporters who helped to bring together our community event. Thank you to our hardy visitors, especially those who travelled distances in order to attend the event, and came determined to enjoy themselves in spite of the weather.
Silverdale was full of drowned rats on Saturday, but at least it was mainly dry on Sunday, although the sun failed too put in an appearance.
All in all, it was a great weekend.
Best wishes,
Carole and Chris

The weather was appalling, but there did seem to be quite a lot of brave souls about the village who were determined to enjoy themselves. The sky doesn’t look too promising this morning, but 🤞that it improves and maybe the sun will put in an appearance.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
This was the view from the back door of my studio yesterday! 🧐

We hope everyone taking part in the Festival had a good day today. We hope our visitors didn't drown on the way round the village! Can you believe it stopped raining at 5.25pm!?
Anyway it was busy here at venue 17, although Andrew's Pop-up cafe was a bit quiet. There's a lot of cake to shift tomorrow!
Here's hoping for a dry day tomorrow.
Good luck everyone.

ONE DAY TO GO… Good morning… it is setting up day for many of you including myself.

No more images - there have been more than 40 posts about the artists taking part in the Silverdale Arts Festival 2024 in the past few weeks, I hope that you have enjoyed them.
Wishing everyone a brilliant weekend.

🤞Fingers crossed that the weather is kind.

This is me signing off.
Carole 🤗

Sustenance is crucial when wandering round our twenty venues in Silverdale next weekend.
You will find refreshments at venue 13 where the Thrifty Ladies will be providing delicious cakes, sandwiches and Pippa's Pies.
Venue 2, Bleasdale School will have tea and coffee, as will Silverdale Masonic Hall (venue 3).
Andrew's Pop-up Cafe at venue 17 will be providing tea, coffee and cakes.
For spiritual sustenance, why not pop into St John's Parish Church (venue 4), or for a musical interlude go to venue 9 where Ann Bond will be demonstrating her harpsichord.
Full details of opening times for individual venues (including refreshments) and locations and a map can be found in our leaflet.

The third group of artists taking part in the Arts Festival is Silverdale Art Group. This thriving group of local amateur artists has been in existence for over fifty years. The group meets on a regular basis in order to learn, develop skills and to support each other in their artistic endeavours. This will be a large exhibition which showcases the interests and breadth of talent of many of the artists in the group.

The Gaskell Hall is Venue 1 and will be acting as a hub over the Arts Festival weekend, where people can view the large colour map of the village trail and collect the leaflet with details of the individual venues.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS VENUE IS OPEN ALL DAY FRIDAY IN ADDITION TO SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

There are three established groups of artists taking part in the Arts Festival this year. At Silverdale Village Institute (venue 13) are members from the Northern and Scottish Potters Association who will be showing a range of handmade items which embrace the wonderful diversity of ceramics.
They are also open on Friday evening, and will make a worthwhile diversion to an evening stroll in sunny (!) Silverdale.

Good morning, I wish I could say it was a glorious summer day in June, but alas I have just put on my thermals in preparation for a day in the studio. Sunshine and heat seems like a remote possibility. 🥶

The Silverdale Arts Festival is an interim event while the Silverdale and Arnside Art and Craft Trail takes a break, and it is clearly going to be the usual busy weekend in Silverdale.
There will also be plenty of activity in Arnside over the weekend. The Midsummer Craft Fair In Arnside at the Women’s Institute and the Methodist Hall will feature many artists and crafts people. Money is being raised in aid of the Children’s playground, and it is a large venue, so it will be worth making a visit between the two villages.
