A monumental moment in Trouble history. Next month we will be launching a new project called “Good Trouble”, a combination of forces between ourselves and Good Habits. Creatively, as musicians, it has been both a blessing and a curse that we have been active “full-time” as The Trouble Notes. It has allowed us to spend countless hours seeking inspiration and honing our skills, but it has also been a challenge that we have held a very Wide definition of what our “style” IS. That’s why our music has often been difficult to define, which is both what makes us special and what has hindered us in some ways. After many deep conversations, we’ve decided to start a new group through which we can channel some of our creative energy and create a more balanced definition of what “The Trouble Notes” and “Good Trouble” are!
In Bonnie and Pete, we have found kindred spirits. Brilliant musicians with virtuous skills and a common energy and humility that has us standing very much at eye level. They are rising stars, truly special artists who are as hardworking and ambitious as we are. The synergy is immense. We have a common vision, a mandate to create an Energetic style of Anthemic music that will have audiences dancing while they belt out Songs at the top of their lungs. Combining the powerful and skillful instrumental style that we have used to define TTN with the authentic songwriting of Good Habits, our music will be thoughtful and uplifting even in its most pensive moments.
This June, we will hunker down in Totnes in Devon for a week long artist residency where we will hone our common repertoire. Songs and themes that we have both written and have kept on ice, feeling they don’t fit within the constructs of our individual projects. Throughout the summer we will debut this repertoire and bake these songs/tunes to live audiences! These dates are an important test and we hope that if you are in the area, that you will come and be in our first audiences!!
In the coming months, we will create an entire series dedicated to the creation of our Good Trouble repertoire. We’re excited to hear your feedback, whether live at a show or through the internet. The Trouble Notes will continue full steam ahead, but now with a more clear direction and a HUGE vision for our future. There’s a lot of GOOD on the horizon for us TROUBLEmakers!

Another very special night to remember at Chapel Sessions
Well worth waiting for, since 2019, to welcome back Daisy Chapman and Sue Lord with new songs from the new album intermingled with favourites from the past. Evocative vocals and stories brought us under the spell of the Bristol based singer songwriter with well woven intricate mood changing lyrics and a vocal range that delighted the appreciative compact audience. They so deserved a packed house which hopefully will grow for their next visit. Thank you so much to our wonderful audience for attending. Another beautiful song from Daisy Chapman live Chapel Sessions Community led Not-4-profit occasional music series last night 👏👏👏
Still recovering from the whirlwind that was maestro Tim Edey playing our Chapel Sessions Community led Not-4-profit occasional music series on Saturday. Intermingling seasonal tracks from his new Christmas album with surefire classics, Galician and Irish tunes, he showed his mastery of guitar, button accordion and mug of tea often all at the same time with dexterous barefoot help from a loop pedal. Tim, fresh from Galicia, recording tracks on Carlos Núñez brand new album #CelticSea Tim Edey enthralled us all with his skilful playing and stories. The appreciative audience were treated to an intimate concert that Chapel Sessions is well known for. Host, John Davison surprised us all with ‘Raggle Taggle Gipsy’ accompanied by bodhran & Tim on button accordion and the atmospheric ‘Water is wide’ with Tim on Guitar. Atmospheric lighting by Glenn our lighting technician, windowsill candles and excellent sound by sound guy Trevor, much appreciated by Tim, made for a beautiful evening definitely to be repeated. @followers
