Jerin Chacko is an undiscovered gem, waiting to shine when the time’s right. He might seem silent at your first acquaintance, but with time, you’ll get to know his talkative side. He is an avid DC fan and watches a lot of movies and even blogs about movie and book reviews. He is quite knowledgeable, spending most of his free time reading books and novels. Although very punctual, he can score a good GPA even if he prepares at the last minute. He likes to sing but often complains about his playlist having rubbish songs. He likes talking about politics and social justice. “Enna und vishesham?” is his characteristic greeting to everyone daily. He understands his friends well. Wishing him a great future ahead!

Sangeeth is one of the nicest guys in IISER TVM. He is famously known as "delta" because of his all-or-none behavior; if he is on to something, he will devote himself entirely or be in a dormant state. He is a movie buff who watches regardless of the language or genre, is a big anime fan, and plays mobile games. You can catch this selfless person at the iCafe, not eating but aiding the staff. During his time on the mess committee, he has proved himself as a team player and a good leader. He exudes a calm, laid-back attitude but researches diligently. He has a helpful nature and never complains about anything. You can always rely on him to gauge a situation adequately before making a decision. We wish Sangeeth the very best in his future endeavours!

Ganga is one of the strongest individuals you will come across on campus. From a talented martial artist with a black belt in Karate to an inevitable member of the IISM contigent, Ganga has charmingly displayed her skills in sports and won several accolades. She has participated in several sporting events on campus as well. Ganga is also a euphonius singer and gifted dancer, who is little sensitive but loved by many - all for her congenial and sociable nature. Her love for food knows no bounds, be it cooking or tasting. She is a super-versatile cook who makes the nicest homemade shawarmas. We wish this strong lady, the very best for her future. May she go places!

Holding his motto- “Stay strong mentally and physically” -up high, the first thing that reminds us of Sam is his charismatic smile with his dimples wide enough to see all his teeth. Sam has only two addictions in life: Food and Math. Like a child trapped inside an adult body, he is cheerful, and people like him for his child-like innocence along with his “ammavan” attitude. Furthermore, Sam could put up a variety of expressions, just like a Kathakali artist. He loves listening to songs by Alan Walker, Alec Benjamin, Imagine Dragons and can be found singing “I'm a bad liarrrrr.” For someone living in the 21st century, a surprising fact about Sam is that he is still in the Nokia era and does not use smartphones. But, this does not stop him from keeping himself updated on regular political and economic happenings. We wish only the best for Sam!

Ankita is a charming and endearing individual who never fails to put a smile on anyone's face. She is a hardworking and dedicated person who takes her studies very seriously, and her work ethic is admirable. Despite her introverted nature, she is a loyal friend and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Her love for food is unparalleled, especially when it comes to pani puri, which is her absolute favorite. She enjoys sleeping and eating like a panda, but she also loves shaking her legs intentionally to ponder about science. Ankita's passion for hematopoietic stem cells is unparalleled, and she is known for her incredible ability to scan boys. Her extensive knowledge of the campus news makes her the secret agent of the group, and her preference for spice and chili over sweet food makes her stand out even more. Famous for being a Marvel fan and for his skills in taking notes, decorating it with coloured pens and including extra notes with reference, Midhun is a hardworking and motivated student who never admits it. He calls literally everyone else "upcoming Nobel laureates". He becomes an atheist when it suits him, but believes in god nearing exams and presentations. This arch enemy of Rahul Ramachandran is a progressive thinker who strongly fights against pseudoscience. He is a good motivator and the go-to person for many when they feel blue. But he is also known to ruin relationships by trying to be politically correct 24/7. His exceptional photography skills are well known, and his knowledge of the movie and TV industries across the globe adds to his prowess as an editor.

Shaliya is a very organised and responsible person, who plans everything beforehand except her sleep schedule. A hygiene freak frequently questions everything and every place that looks unsanitary to her, This cheerful and supportive lady has a unique vibe of her own. She always gives sound practical advice and is a very passionate person who manages to do stuff she likes irrespective of its intricacies. Shaliya is a bibliophile who has a ton of ebooks in her laptop with all her favorite lines highlighted. She loves watching horror and thriller movies and can turn any story into horror, apart from writing some of her own. She watches K-Dramas at a speed greater than 8x to finally forget the plot, but she is also the first person to fall asleep during movie night. Her friends shower her with hugs and kisses knowing that she doesn't like them. All the best!

Rohit aka SRK (not Shah Rukh Khan) is an excellent student who is funny and "wild" outside of academics. Hailing from Himachal Pradesh, Rohit is a very amicable person and easily becomes friends with people. He wants to become a great songwriter, and he released one song video in his very first year. Further, he takes poetry classes with his closest friend on campus- his roommate. We think he will return to IISER to perform during the Ishya proshow as a singer and as a songwriter someday. His excellence in academic research is proven by the fact that he is the only person in the history of BSMS Math major students who will be publishing a paper in his major project.

Roshin is an expression queen and knows all the 'navarasangal'. She is named the 'mommy' in her friend group due to her doting nature. She loves pizza to the point that her dream is to marry an Italian, get settled in Italy and eat lots and lots of pizza. Apart from pizza, her next greatest love is chicken fry, and she was even moved to tears when icafe stopped serving it. Roshin has her own style of doing things (at least according to herself 😉) and she has her own motto– ''Nobody does it better than nyoty Roshin''. She is not quick to temper, but people underestimate her ability to win fights especially with her signature eye-poking manoeuvre. This YouTube addict is also an excellent driver, and can drive with her eyes closed (we do not recommend you be present with her during this).

Melanie is a talented singer who loves Michael Jackson and prefers old English songs to new ones. She is a pro organic chemist with a vision. On the hottest of days, she enjoys taking hot baths. Melanie is known for her signature short hair, spectacles and matching accessories. You could always find her in a crowd! Upon getting to know her better, she is one of the most amiable and caring people. She gives great importance to spending quality time with friends and family. It is easy to make her laugh. She spends her time either listening to music or binge watching series. She is an enthusiastic foodie, and a good cook. Her love language is roasting others. She is a spelling bee champion and a grammatical nerd. She is an honest, down-to-earth person, which is one of her best qualities. Melanie, best wishes for the future!

Rajatava is undoubtedly a genius mind here at IISER. He loves music and singing and has won several prizes, including Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Juniors of Zee Bangla. He is an avid traveller, and his travel blogs are a testament to his love for exploring new places. He is a die-hard Messi fan even skipping classes and labs to watch football matches. Rajatava is skilled cook who can whip up authentic Bengali sweet dishes. Despite his love for Apple products, he can be found wearing torn T-shirts, and is always available for a tea break. Rajatava is also a literature buff who can sometimes bore people with history they don't want to know. However, his ability to listen to all your rants and provide a calculative cost-benefit analysis to offer the best solution is commendable.

What makes this man stand out from the crowd is his all or nothing attitude towards everything in his life, be it academics or hobbies. Albin never settles for anything less than perfect, and his attitude towards setbacks is to rise back like a phoenix, and tackle difficulties with renewed vigor. Although he is fiercely ambitious, he is not immune to stress, which is well-known among his peers. Albin serves as an inspiration to many, and brings about an energy that motivates people to set goals and achieve them. Every perfectionist overthinker needs a stress buster, and for Albin it is watching Olympic games and shows like South Park. The skill sets he achieved through rigorous mental and physical discipline has earned him many accolades– he is a national level rope skipper, a KVPY scholar and a skilled pencil artist.

KB Harilal is the OG Kollam fury. “1 poyal 3” is his policy for life. Since living with him, his roommates have learned many Malayalam swear words. One of them hails him as GMOAT, but the rest of his friends call him "Vaazha." Although an excellent basketball and football player, he has spent much of his time at IISER on the sidelines because of constant injuries. Extremely close-fisted with his money, he is known for buying black tea from Thanal canteen instead of regular tea to save one rupee. He might have switched from his "nanmamaram" attitude, but he is loyal to his four girlfriends and one boyfriend! The epitome of dedication, he goes to his lab even after midnight, but his lab mates have no idea what’s happening in the lab at that hour. We wish Harilal the very best for his future!

Bala Surya is renowned for his anecdotes from his time at Sainik School in Amaravathinagar. He is an honourable and morally upright man. He is a fantastic cook and an even better gourmand; Alfredo pasta is probably his most well-known dish. He is an avid Formula 1 fan and a car aficionado. One Piece is his favourite anime series. He is an organic chemist by heart but his interests in biology are no less. He enjoys a wide range of music; everything from Imagine Dragons to Tamil classics from the 1970s. His trustworthy nature makes him the best person to confide in. His tough mentality and sturdy physique has earned him the title of Mike Tyson. Nevertheless, he's afraid of commitments. We wish Bala a prosperous future ahead!

Aparna, the underappreciated dancer and a beautiful singer of B18, can be spotted in her friends' room than in her own. She is affectionately known as the 'Jimmy' of B18 to remind her of her glorious days in the gym. (PS:- she has not stepped into the gym after her first semester). Extroverted Aparna is a part of many friends groups. She is very hardworking, organised, systematic, and will put in efforts to maintain relationships. She will remember your birthday and be your good friend but you must make sure that you don't make her lose her temper. This multifaceted woman gets all the double meaning jokes so quickly. The cherry on the cake is her top tier humour marred only by her poor taste in reels. Though she came to IISER hoping to meet cute CET guys, this new campus has not disappointed her. Lovingly called Petha or Honty, beachaholic and foodaholic (special favourite: her room maggi), is the motivated and enthusiastic Amruta Sahoo, the perfect example of a strong woman. Her friends call her a waste body particularly because she has no hobbies; but she surely knows how to enjoy life to the fullest and is a joy to be around. She is the most welcoming person on campus - any doubts about a subject, advice for juniors, help just before the exam - Amruta is the right person with ever open helping hands. With infinite love for her friends and family, she’s a perfect buddy to have and we were lucky to have her as an awesome senior who never bothered with us asking hundreds of questions regarding major projects. We are grateful for her love, patience, and enthusiasm and she will be missed. All the very best for your bright future!

Arjun S Nair is an 'all in one package', with significant contributions in both IISM and IICM, which only a few people in IISER can brag about. If not for him, who else would have been that pumped up to see the cricket match that happened in Thiruvananthapuram. His revolutionary mindset made him a force to be reckoned with, which materialised into the Humanities Collective of IISER TVM under his strong leadership. He is highly opinionated and a constant advocate of mental health, feminism, and rationalism. As the official social media manager of IISER TVM, Arjun has a talent for managing multiple accounts and has set a standard for many active Instagram handles. He is a trained violinist and the youngest TA at IISER Thiruvananthapuram. He is a kind and reliable friend who loves to have deep conversations.

Anaswar is a huge McLaren enthusiast who loves to read and learn about cars, including their models, specifications, and all that jazz. If there's one thing that surpasses his love for McLaren, it's his passion for sports. Anaswar enjoys watching and playing cricket, as well as football. The pride of SK lab, in his free time, he likes to read, and occasionally make jokes about killing rats and taking their brains out. However, one thing you won't catch him doing is eating bakery items, as he despises them. May Anaswar go places; we wish Anaswar all the best in his future endeavours!

Anagha P, a.k.a Korean baby, is a huge K-drama and black-pink fan who is also famous for having different ‘reel and real’ boyfriends every month. Although she may seem an introvert to those unfamiliar, she is a pure extrovert within her gang. She would rather message you on Instagram than talk to you in person and even has a knack for tricking and trolling people by creating fake profiles. An extremely trustworthy, loving, and helpful friend to many, she is also well known for capturing her friends’ “oolatharam” on camera. This young girl hopes to solve major unsolved questions in Physics someday and wishes to go abroad for her Ph.D., especially to score an American or Korean boyfriend. We wish Anagha all the very best and hope her dreams come true!

Nihal S Kumar, aka Kamru or Fakrudeen, is probably the biggest heartbreaker of his batch. This guy is a real-life superhero when it comes to multitasking, even comparable to NASA’s supercomputers. Nihal is also a low-key wise old monk who can make you question your life decisions when he's euphoric. This innocent-faced guy is unable to say no to ‘certain’ things offered to him and will always be there to provide good company. He is also a fitness freak who gives the best professional gym advice. Be warned of his FIFA skills, as he's the luckiest player who manages to win a match even without taking a single shot on goal, thanks to the almighty crossbar. May Nihal achieve greater heights in the future!

Shahna Mysin, or just Mysin as she prefers, is childish by default but quickly switches into a serious demeanor when called upon. She is a reliable buddy who is also caring. She frequently craves non-veg, but she hardly ever eats it. Her trademark "heloooow" while taking calls is legendary. Mysin has always been keen to visit distant places and takes the lead on group outings, despite being the first to become exhausted while traveling. A talented artist with excellent painting skills, she is a vital member of several design teams. You'd be shocked to learn that in her third grade, she was already reading works by eminent authors like Basheer, and was an active speaker and participant in various oratory, reading, and discussion clubs in high school. We wish this skillful lady a bright future ahead!

Amol Verma is a very helpful and appreciative person who finds the best in everything. Nonetheless, he definitely likes cricket more than anything and is a vital member of the IISER cricket team. He is a spiritual person by nature but gets too much involved in any conversation or discussion to such an extent that he might even leave in between. However, the best part is that Amol will still be your friend the day after, like nothing matters. Along with other interests, he is very much into fitness and ensures he’s always on a healthy diet. Amol likes to do Yoga and is a huge motivation to others to follow a healthy lifestyle. He might be a tube light in figuring out a situation, but he always figures it out. Goutami, a foodie at heart and a die-hard BTS fan, is the vibrant soul of her circle. The life of the party, when the beats of kuthu songs fill the air, Goutami's fiery dancer within emerges. With an incredible aesthetic sense and an undeniable talent as an artist, she weaves magic on canvas and beyond. This artistic prodigy has the ability to transform mundane objects into eye-catching masterpieces, a skill that led her to represent us at IICM. You can find Goutami laughing with (or at) her friends at any point of the day or with her bee babies at Eco lab. Goutami's room serves as a sanctuary for her friends, a place where they can unwind or get hyped up, as the go-to person for advice on everything from fashion to relationships, she's their ultimate confidante. With Goutami around, life is always an exhilarating, colorful journey.

There is no one who can appreciate food more than raseena. Despite her reputation as a picky eater who dislikes junk food, Raseena is a true devotee of traditional Kerala cuisine and a biryani lover who takes an eternity to complete her favorite dish. She has a strong personality, is quite adventurous, and enjoys traveling and exploring beautiful locations and any place there is a water body. According to legends, she once decided to travel alone to Chittippara because she felt bored. She is always soft-spoken and always wears an innocent smile on her face. She is very particular about whom she surrounds herself with and enjoys listening more than talking. Her friends say after the Covid lockdown, Raseeena prioritized "do what you like," pampering, and self-care. She has proven her exceptional skill for drawing and craft work, particularly designing mehendis. We wish her every success in her future endeavors.

Namitha has many nicknames– all depicting various aspects of her personality. She is called thallamma (for her super boasting skills), aatumma, buttu and the list just goes on. She is a powerhouse of a person, and loves dancing and going on spontaneous walks. She is the queen of mischief, and is the guru of all roguish shenanigans for her friends. Namitha is notoriously famous for driving people away with her lame jokes and for motivating her friends to jump into embarrassing situations. She is also known for rushing to attack the refreshments stand when there is a symposium/seminar going on. This mini-Loki loves her 'egg cheech chandwich' and is also an avid fly researcher– she loves her Drosophila. Shafi would be one of the most enthusiastic people you would meet at IISER, but only if you are lucky enough to interact with and get to know him. He likes to put his heart and soul to the things he is passionate about. At the same time he couldn’t care less about the things that don't make sense to him - like mandatory attendance. This amazing physicist can often be spotted in PSB with his ipad. His unfathomable love for F1 has led him to explore innovative ways to get the wifi. He is an avid reader, Manga being one of his favourites. Shafi belongs to the elite breed who hauls all the Apple products and seamlessly goes on to criticise the iphone! He is obsessed with Sonic the Hedgehog to a point where from alarm till he goes to sleep all you can hear is that. Best wishes to you.

This hostel representative of Ponmudi, ‘Pinky’ aka Greeshma, is a very positive and approachable person who interacts freely with everyone. She maintains good relations with people within and outside of her batch. This physics major is bold and open-minded and always speaks her mind and stands for what she believes is right. Her volunteership during Ishya doing judges management and sponsorship has inspired others. She has some “mandatharams” with her, unbeknownst to others. Most of her friends and labmates have had the good fortune to visit her home and enjoy good food (perks of staying in the city!), but only a few have been fortunate enough to listen to her sing. Due to various similarities (especially hair), a lot of people (mainly those new to campus) think Sneha and Greeshma are siblings or sometimes the same person!

Ramkrishna Biswas excels at table tennis and is renowned for his adaptability and relaxed demeanour on the court. In addition to his abilities in sports and academia, he is a gifted flute player who values classical music. Throughout his first year, he picked up Malayalam swiftly, and his ability to speak it effectively is well-known among his followers. He enjoys travelling in his own time and has been to practically all of Kerala's tourist attractions. He is an avid photographer and has a strong eye for capturing lovely moments in nature. He appreciates being in contact with nature and thus he frequently prefers to spend his leisure time outside rather than in a hostel. He is an all-around multidimensional person who loves sports, music, and the outdoors. We wish him the best in his future endeavours.

Amrutha may initially seem intimidating, but once you get to know her, there is no going back! She claims to have won the 1st prize in the light music competition in school and never misses an opportunity to irritate her hostel mates. Despite being a 10-pointer, only a few approach her for doubts. Those who have made the mistake of asking her a doubt have been beaten till they give the correct answer. These reasons and her constant banter have earned her the nickname "Kaiser," the dog that barks but doesn't bite. Once called "Idli Ammayi" in school, she has now upgraded to become the "Thalaivi" of the ammayi team. Jokes apart, Amrutha is a caring friend and a dedicated researcher. She gets so engrossed in doing experiments that she forgets everything around her. We wish Kaiser all the very best in her future!

"Bhabhi Ji" of Batch 18, Anagha Rajeev (or Janu as she prefers to be called), is a vivacious sweetheart. She's self-conscious and sensitive to what appears on her publicly, constantly enquiring about her turn to be on the wall. It took her 6-8 hours to choose her picture for the wall! Her dressing sense is commendable. She is a foodie, Tiktok fame, and a terrific dancer who can easily hide her mistakes by flashing a smile. Pranking is one of her hobbies, and once she smashed her phone with a rock and acted like she was going through stages of psychosis (like Shobana in Manichithrathazhu). She is a top-rated kozhi and a big fan of Vijay Devarakonda and wishes to settle in Karnataka. She is a beach person who is crazy about waterbodies and has a soft spot for boat jetties. We wish only the best!

Anjusha has a passion for movies, particularly Malayalam films, and will re-watch them repeatedly and would make her friends watch them as well. Horror movies are her favourite, although she will have her eyes closed half of the time. This movie maniac knows many movie dialogues by heart and loves to share them with others. Unfortunately, by the time she was ready to showcase her acting skills, TikTok was banned in India. Her kind and understanding nature makes it easy to adjust with people of all types. She is not a picky eater and is happy to eat any food, “Njn nthum thinnum”. She is fond of dancing and is also a talented volleyball player who participated in IISM and won the emerging player award for young talent in sports. She has trained junior players and even adjusts her lab timings for playing. We wish her a prosperous future ahead!

An approachable and supportive person, Jathoth Naveen loves sports and dance. He plays multiple sports, including Kho kho, Volleyball, Kabbadi and Badminton. He has established his presence for every Ishya with his dance. You cannot see him walk past a cat or dog without petting it. This Chemistry major is also an excellent cook and serves tasty Andhra dishes. He knows many things about plants and gardening and loves growing them on his balcony. Being too much of a Vijay Devarakonda fan that he has his jersey name as 'Devarakonda'. Naveen also binge-watches movies in all languages, especially Telugu and Tamil. Cleanliness is another one of his obsessions. Being very outgoing and easygoing, he is loved by his friends and juniors. Sending best wishes to take with him on his future adventures.

Srilaxmi might look silent at first, but nothing stops her once she starts to speak. She can be sighted more in her room than in her lab. Nevertheless, she is an expert coder. She is calm and quiet and often enjoys trekking, playing cards, badminton, and exploring new places with her close ones. She is easygoing and one of the best food partners you can ever have; she grabs onto whatever food she gets from outside. She can spend the whole day sleeping! Besides sleeping, another of her favourite pastime is watching anime. Being very selective with a great sense of latest fashion, Srilaxmi's wardrobe is a haven for her friends, thanks to her immense online shopping, most of which she usually returns back. Even though not many know, her Thrissur slang stands out while she talks to someone on phone. We wish this "underrated buji" the very best!

This soft-hearted and friendly senior has gained many titles over the years. He elegantly transformed from being an aggressive personality in his first year to becoming an absolute " thallukoli" in his 5th year. This well-aged transition gained him the title of "IISER chenda". A "lolahridayan" on the inside, he even cried for the movie ‘Avatar’. Although self-explanatory, one Instagram post would not be enough to trace the history behind his various other titles such as "trauma king", "mundur mandan", and "IISER's romanjakunjakam". Varun is also a self-proclaimed "sarvakalavallabhan" shining in badminton, singing, dancing and has also earned himself a spot in the sports council. He is one of the best lab partner one can ask for (claimed by N Aishwarya). May you gain many more titles in the future. We wish Varun the best in all his future endeavours!

You can always find Namitha, also called Mami/Shunni, in a ‘kili poya avastha’. Over the years, she has become quite fond of drinking wine and can recommend some really good ones! Despite being a not-so-devotional, she loves travelling and aspires to visit all the temples in Goa and Gokarna. On a different note, she is a padippi who qualified NET and KVPY ‘with a breeze’. A talented singer, her Smule fanbase speaks for itself. She remains an underrated stalker who managed to stalk everyone in IISER on Facebook using not her’s but her dad’s FB account. All in all, she is a talented and progressive person with a great helping mentality. We wish Namitha the best in all her future endeavours!

Hailing from Vitura, Aparna V.M. is a sweetheart of her friends and family. Being near the college, her house is a second home for her friends, who will genuinely miss the delicious food from her home. This drama queen puts extra expressions everywhere and hence nicknamed ‘Silk’. If given a second chance, she would definitely pick performing arts over Chemistry. Her friends claim that she has a bright future in acts and plays. She has a great passion for working in human resource development. Although her main hobby is listening to music, she doesn’t know the lyrics of any songs. Her playlist is a mix of everything from Malayalam to Pakistani and Korean songs, and she loves to contemplate their inner meaning.
