Good morning Everyone 🤩As some of you know already, my van wouldn’t start last Monday, and it’s in the shop, waiting for a starter rebuild. My good friend Ian has been driving me to and from my clients homes this last week, and now he’s in the hospital for unrelated health issue, so I need to come up with a new plan for getting to and from clients homes this coming week, until my van is back on the road. Wonder if anyone’s willing to help out with driving, or perhaps lending me a car? Im a Road Star, and have never had an accident, if that info helps. I’m also considering renting a car, though that will be an extra expense on top of the costly 1500 repair. Any helpful ideas let me know 🙏💜

Turns out it was the belt for AC compressor, and not a serous issue: brief prayers answered 🙏

Seed trays with heritage sugar peas fix well under the hydroponic light, as well as one successful start (of 6) Lower Salmon River Squash sprout.

And check out the transformation in our shared garden, as Ian and I add a flower bed around the perimeter of our fenced vegetable garden. Garden time 👩‍🌾

With Christmas orphan status looming once again, I took the initiative to ask around about joining other people’s holiday celebrations, with fabulous results. My yoga friend Lisa welcomed me into her Families Festivities with open arms 🥰

Baked an local back yard apples pie with spelt flour and bacon fat crust, pulled my chocolate crushed velvet dress out of the closet, packed my Jenga game, bought a tub of organic vanilla ice cream on my way and headed over there with Christmas Spirit in my heart, and enjoyed a wonderful Christmas dinner with their group. Thank you Lisa 🙏

Those who know me well know that when it comes to hair and make up, I prefer the ‘natural look’ provided by good health, and in general spend only a few minutes ‘getting ready’ in the morning.

With that being the case, I decided I’d like to wake up with well defined eye brows every morning, and started looking into permanent make up in January of this year. Found out costs can range up to $700 for micro blading at the fancier salons in high profile locations, so I kept looking, and found that if I was willing to drive out to Saanich, I had more reasonable options.

Felt SO excited when I made the appointment When I told my son, he said ‘no way, your not going to do that!’

😹Man was he ever surprised when I came home with these new and improved eye brows!

Tis the Season for home baking 🥧

Received bags of apples from three different friends, so made apple pie with lite spelt crust, using bacon fat and grassfed butter in the crusted: sweetened the apples with local honey.

A couple days later used up the frozen bananas in the freezer to make two loaves lite spelt flour banana chocolate chip bread

Lots of fun, attending the Night Market at the Mint restaurant last Thursday night with friend Lisa: it was fabulous hub of activity with local artists presenting artwork, jewelry clothes handmade soap along with fantastic live music. And the curried lamb dish was delicious too!

Interesting bit about yams and sweet potatoes 🤔Some nice sized good looking cauliflowers: I brought home one bunch each of the chard and collards, a good size piece of the young turmeric root, a bag kiwi’s, and a stalk of Brussel sprouts for my friend Ian. All locally grown 😎🥰

Drove out to Mary Windspear Centre in Sidney with friends last weekend, to Celebrate the 40th Birthday of our Canadian Green Party. First Leader told a great back story about how the party evolved over the years, from its humble beginnings to its current growing popularity in Canada and around the World. We need more people to stand with us, and vote for a sustainable world that works for everyone 💚

Picked up Bella from the Police station last Thursday: the boys in blue brought her up from the bike compound. Sooo SO happy to have her back!

Well I waited a month, hoping for the return of my stolen Opus Belladonna bike, but she was not found. To help myself move forward, I bought a new purple Cannondale bike from North Park Bikes.

However, I was having trouble riding the new bike: it was simply too big, and awkward to ride, so last Thursday I decided I need to take it back, and trade it in for a better suited bike.

While I was in the shop, the clerk heard me taking about my stolen Opus, and told me he had just received an email about an Opus bike that had been recovered by police. When I asked if it was white, and he said ‘yes’ I got a little dizzy, thinking it may be my bike. Said to the clerk ‘if its my bike, I’m probably going to cry’

He shows me the email and picture of the recovered bike, and sure enough, it’s my Bella 😭 Elation, followed by waterworks 🌧️ She’s back!

Oh yeah, it’s my Birthday!
Great group of Friends and Family got together for some fabulous food, good times and gorgeous view at Glo restaurant at Selkirk. Took the Harbour Ferry over!

Afterwards it was back to our place for a Dessert Potluck featuring Wildfire Bakery hazelnut lemon cream cake, and Green Cuisine cashew butter dairy free cheesecake, followed by Dancing. Thanks everyone, for so much fun!
