Hi, I'm April. 👋
If you're new here, I wanted to introduce myself and share a little bit about why I do what I do.
I'm a mom of three amazing kids, two of whom are on the autism spectrum. When they were little, I often felt trapped at home. Between eloping, sensory processing challenges, awkward social interactions, and unexpected outbursts, finding places where we truly fit in felt nearly impossible.
I wanted my children to have the freedom to explore, play, and learn safely. I wanted to keep up with our neurotypical friends and playgroups. But I was also learning to embrace and celebrate the journey we were on, even when it looked different than I had imagined.
There was grief in those early years. But there was also tremendous growth, joy, and discovery.
Today, those littles are bigs, and creating the kind of space I once desperately needed has become my dream job.
Each week, I have the privilege of welcoming children and caregivers to playgroups where everyone is invited, everyone belongs, and everyone is celebrated. I pour my heart into designing activities that delight, challenge, and inspire curiosity while encouraging messy exploration, learning through play, creativity, and connection.
Just as importantly, I hope these gatherings give moms, dads, grandparents, and caregivers a chance to build the community we all need.
