FIRST DANCE TIPS 👇 The first dance at your wedding can be intimidating! Here are some tips to ease the “all eyes on me” anxiety: 1. Do you first dance right after your wedding introduction! You will already be on the dance floor at this time, and everyone’s eyes will be on you. 2. Don’t feel like you need to use the entire song! You can discuss with your DJ and/or Band to cut a shorter version of the song if you’re more comfortable with that. 3. PRACTICE! You don’t need a choreographed dance, but practicing a few times can help to ease the anxiety… Whether it’s deciding how you want to hold each other, place your hands, twirl or even just discussing the speed will make you feel a lot more comfortable on your wedding day. 4. Look at each other! This is such a special moment, you want to make sure you look at each other, smile, kiss and truly be together in this moment! 5. End with a dip! On this day 3 years ago, I officially filed “The Main Event by Kelly” as an LLC. It was a leap of faith in a world full of unknown (literally still in the middle of a pandemic) but looking back today, it was the best decision of my life! (Well.. I should say after marrying Michael 😅). I built this business by myself, piece by piece, and poured all my knowledge, love and passion into it! Looking back now, 3 years feel equally as yesterday as it feels a million years ago! Although every wedding is unique, the process of building a timeline always starts the same way. I ask couples some very targeted questions, and work my way starting at the end of the day, all the way to the beginning. This timeline is pretty standard for couples that have the following: first look, formal photos, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at the same location (meaning no need to incorporate time for transportation). Here are some of the questions I would ask to build this timeline: ▪️How long and where is your reception? (Typically 4 hours) ▪️How long and where is your cocktail hour? (Typically 1 hour) ▪️How long and where is your ceremony? (Typically 30 minutes) ▪️What does your photo shot list look like? (To determine how long we need for the formal family and wedding party photos) ▪️How long do you need after your hair and makeup is done for your getting ready photos? (This can include pajama photos with the bridesmaids, special bridal portrait, grand reveal with the bridesmaids, first look with your mom or dad) You would be surprised how long every little thing happening during the day takes! So having a detailed timeline will help with staying on schedule and not starting your ceremony….
