** WINTER STORM SNOWFALL MAP FOURTH CALL **

Posted: 1/4/2025 at 9pm. Check back for more updated information.

Timing: Late Sunday Night (after 11pm) through Monday night (10pm)

Confidence: LEANING HIGH

Our much-talked winter storm will be arriving in the state late Sunday night and linger throughout the day on Monday. The overall trend has been toward a more northerly and amplified track with high-resolution guidance, which is what I am shifting my weight to in my newest forecast despite the southern trends on other global model guidance.

Significant impacts are expected across much of southern Pennsylvania where there is an increasing risk for 6" or more inches of snowfall. Minor to moderate impacts will stay at I-80 and southward. Travel plans on Monday should be put at a halt, with snow-covered roadways and interstates likely expected.

** HEAVY SNOWFALL RATES OF 1"+/HR WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN PENNSYLVANIA MONDAY MORNING WHICH WILL LEAD TO VERY ROUGH TRAVEL CONDITIONS **

RED-DOTTED LINES: Those within the red-dotted line remain under the higher uncertainty in my opinion. A 15-30 mile difference in the track will mean *SIGNIFICANT* changes in the snowfall amounts (aka, areas in the 3-5 could see 8-12 if it shifts north of areas in the 8-12 could see 3-5 if we see a southward shift*

There are still some uncertainties with the storm. Wobbles in the track and intensity of the storm could still shift the snowfall amounts 15-30 miles in either direction. It is possible my snowfall amounts may still be too low or too high for some areas, but I will continue to track the recent model guidance throughout the day with another snowfall map update by this evening.

If you are planning to travel, especially Monday morning and Monday afternoon, be on alert for snow-covered roadways and interstates, especially close to the PA/MD/WV borders.

Stay tuned and reach out with any questions/concerns!
